Today I received one Octagon SF8 HD (MK 1000-XP) and installed the last OpenPLi image (OpenPLi-4.0-beta-xp1000-20131030_usb.zip), this is my first receiver enigma 2 and I'm having some problems...

The remote control has keys exchanged, when I click on the INFO button opens the EPG, when I click on the OK appears info bar, when I click channel up+/down- opens the Channel Selection (TV) - Bouquets.

I've tried changing the Input Device but it was the same.

I created a updated satellite.xml file online and when I put it in /etc/tuxbox  and restart the receiver all the sats disappear from the Tuner Configuration, instead of choosing satellites only have 4 options:

. All Satellites 1

. All Satellites 2

. All Satellites 3

. All Satellites 4

... and LNB 33, LNB 34, LNB 35 and LNB 36 rather  having LNB 1 to LNB 32.

I have 6 fixed LNB's and managed to set up with Diseqc switch 1.1 but I have another LNB on a dish with a motor diseqc 1.2...I want to capture the same sat with two different LNB's...

Example:

. diseqc switch 1.1 port 2 - 28.2ºE fixed LNB - one Bouquet

. diseqc switch 1.1 port 1 - 28.2ºE motorized LNB - another Bouquet

Is it possible?... is just add the same sat with a different name in the satellite.xml??

I installed the Dream Box Edit to edit channel lists... what are the File Paths for the Octagon SF8 HD?

I apologize for the basic questions but this is my first E2 receiver.

I don't know with what you are comparing it, but this is how Enigma2 works.

INFO gives you the program info of the channel your watching, zapping works with the arrow up and down. The channel up/down buttons are the Bouquet selectors. This is because E2 is the only box that uses bouquets, and most boxes use a generic remote control that has "channel" printed on them, instead of "bouquet". Without these buttons you would not be able to switch bouquets.

There should not be a need to update or replace your sattelites.xml, every image contains an up to date version, which gets updated once a week (and installed when you run software update from the menu).

In DreamBoxEdit, just choose for Enigma2, there is no need to change the default paths.

As for your dish setup, I have to pass that on to a specialist. ;)

Hi,

You can change bouquet from the channel selection with the blue button. So CH+/CH- is not the only way to change bouquet in E2.

True. You can also configure that when you "zap-next" on the last channel it goes to the next bouquet. But not really (end)user friendly don't you think?

Hi,

I nearly never use the P+/P- to change bouquet, always use the blue button in channel selection.

I only use it in graphical MultiEPG

I have a multi-lingual household, with bouquets for the different providers, so here the buttons are used a lot to quickly switch.

A lot faster then down, blue, down, down, down, ok. ;)

I am comparing with E2 receivers of my friends

I can not change from channel number 2 to channel number 3 or between other channels, if i use the arrow keys up and down it opens the menu Channel Selection (TV) - Bouquet, if I use the key channel up/down it opens the menu Channel Selection (TV) - Bouquet, is impossible to zapping between channels!!! I just want to change channel without entering the menu Channel Selection (TV) - Bouquets!!!

I do not think it is normal a E2 receiver to Zapping between channels of the same Bouquet, but that's what happens with this image.

In all E2 receivers of my friends the only way to enter the menu Channel Selection (TV) - Bouquet is in OK key!!!

I installed the latest image and satellite.xml is not updated, I had already stopped using Lyngsat because sometimes they took more than 3 months to update transponders, they just keep some satellites up to date.

Use the left right arrow... not up/down.

:D left and right arrows works but I think it makes no sense... anyway, I've read that there is a plugin that can remap the remote keys, can I download it and install this plugin with the green key?... what is the name of this plugin?

I watch many sports feeds and sometimes I have to add transponders manually with the remote control, how can I add transponders manually on OpenPLi 4.0?

Also I have a very strange problem when entering the receiver via FTP, I'm using DCC v2.92 and whenever I want to FTP the receiver I have to change the receiver's IP lol

At this very moment I entered the receiver via FTP with the receiver IP 192.168.1.205 and using DCC v2.92, Now if I turn off the DCC and reconnect it always gives error, I can only re-enter the FTP changing the receiver's IP, I'm not using DHCP.

Sorry for the double post...

Looks like I'll have to manually update the satellite.xml... how do I convert this:

2hrlm2t.jpg
30n9nv6.jpg

... in this (satellite.xml original):

axl506.jpg

...or this (satellites-xml.eu):

veojuc.jpg

... in the OpenPLi 4.0 original satellite.xml?

I already know that:

polarization="0" is horizontal
polarization="1" is vertical

I have no doubt in symbol_rate and frequency, my doubts are the first 3 options:

transponder modulation
system
fec_inner

The transponder of example above have a 3/4 FEC and the satellite.xml have fec_inner="0"

How do I convert this?

Hi,

Before bumping the forum with many questions, I guess a good start is to take the time to go into each menu and read the different possibilities.

Use the left / right arrow on every lines to see what you can change and also to use the search feature of this forum....

You don't need to edit the satellites.xml file to scan a transponder, just go into the search service menu and select: manual scan, there you can define everything things and launch a scan it will add the found channels into your channel list.

Go to Analyse kind and select (left / right arrows: User defined transponder)
