It is slow (lots of spinners during setup) due to a bug in the box which sets the unix time to before 1970.

Once you have the image setup, it gets the correct time from the transponder and the problem will be gone.

You can try to login using telnet from your PC, and use the 'date' command to set a time. After that the spinners will be gone too.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

They must have implemented a workaround.

The box itself doesn't have an RTC, so it's internal clock needs to be initialized on startup. All boxes do that by setting it to zero (1-1-1970), but the VU Duo2 doesn't, causing it to start in 1958 or so, which causes this behaviour.

As they likely work-a-round this as previously mentioned.

You didn't get the irony ...

The irony is that a busy man like yourself  with such great talents still seems to have spare time to visit the OpenPli website and participate in discussions.

So:

- you dont have anything else to do, and lead a boring life without any challenges,

- you actually love OpenPli and wish you could be part of the development team, but are afraid to admit that

Geen wonder... Had slechts een dm7000, maar wel ook een rotor. eigenlijk al een tijdje ook een dm600 en dm7025. Maar nu kijkend met een et9000 en vuduo

Hi,

Would be nice to have:

- netwok enabled by default with DHCP ON (so we can connect to the box and manually change date and time).

- include a NTP sync after the network is enable even if time is set to UTC+00 this will avoid such problem.

This is not a DUO² specific "patch" and it can be included in all Openpli images.

On the DUO² this time problem make crash constantly the Wizard but with some patience you can go through the setup.... but you will hate the spinners in between.
