You can't. The hardware does not support it

With the "AutoResolutin" Plugin you can configure the box so that it will output in 1080p when you play 1080p(rogressive) content, like *.mkv files or whatever. Everything else doesn't make much sense ...

You're all missing the point.

Older receivers, like the dm800, actually can output 1080p, BUT it's 1080p25. There is no advantage whatsoever to use 1080p25, at any time. If you have 1080p25 material, it can be played using 1080i50 equally well, you won't see the difference. On the other hand 1080i50 material will be deinterlaced when output as 1080p25 and you WILL loose smoothness of moition.

So, no point in doing it, really. And that's why enigma doesn't offer the choice, even though it's possible.

For newer receivers, you can enable 1080p50, which may or may not give better motion smoothness, depending on what's connected. On a computer monitor (no interlaced input) it will definitely be better, on a TV set probably not, given the fact that all media are still 1080i50 and not 1080p50. If you have true 1080p50 media (which is really rare), you should output it at 1080p50.

Ok thx for this well presented information.

Now the question is which newer dreambox does support 1080P50 do you have any idea because the specs dont even mention it.

Is it a special version of a video chip that should be in the box or how can we tell ??

Thanx for any info you might have.

Rob

According to http://openpli.org/wiki/comparison, only the XP1000, the VU+ Solo2 and Duo2 are capable of 1080p50.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Issue with the forum software, it's without the comma at the end: http://openpli.org/wiki/comparison

The et4000 can also do 1050p50, btw. If it's not in the sheet it, should be correct.

But then again, why would you care?

Indeed, and also 1080p60 for all three boxes.
