dear friends / developers,

 

on different forums I've tried to find out to fix the following problem with my DTT usb pen and, checking on the web it becomes evident this issue is a common problem:

 

OpenPli 4.0 doesn't recognize the Sky digital key, the Avermedia Usb Pen (but this is not really true).

 

The most say: "correct drivers for this ddt pen is A867 drivers, and OpenPli image should support it with its A9035 (you can find it downloading new plugins, then drivers - but system doesn't install anything giving back a compatibility error with my Vu+ Solo and my DM800SE).

So I've downloaded the file by myself from OpenPLi Feeds and I manually installed from TMP folder, it has been installed, but without positive results because nothing changed: Usb doesn't  work and Tuner is not recognized.

 

On the web I've found these 2 files (see attachments, maybe I will help someone else) which gave me the opportinity to use this pen with OpenPli 4.0 on my Dreambox (Sunray SR4 with A8P Sim) without problems: I've manually installed these 2 files from TMP folder and system has installed 3 packages in total (2 files).

 

SO, THIS PEN WORKS ON OPENPLI4.0!!

 

Same procedure with Vu+Solo, it doesn't work, only 1 package is installed.

We cannot say OpenPli4 do not support this usb pen because IT DOES on my Sunray.

The image is the same, I always use same files (mips32el) for both receivers. So, why the same drivers don't work with Vu+ Solo?

 

Who can help me with this issue?

I'm adding this plug-in just to show you Avermedia stick is recognized, but drivers are not active.

I've have same problem wih WinTV Nova-T DDT stick, but with usbtuner plug-in there is a difference, WinTV pen has gray light, Avermedia has red light (no drivers at all).

Both sticks don't work.

The key to success is the following patch: file://dvb-usb-a867.patch

I will try create create the appropriate patch for OpenPLi during the weekend. If you are in hurry google + git is your friend

Here are missing kernel modules for a867 and af9035. Patches where available but they didn't apply nicely on 3.1 kernel.

Please test a867 and report if it is working in order to submit patch for inclusion.

After install the module A867 the dreambox not running. I have installa from plugin panle the module af9035 but not load driver at restart. 

Is possible load manual? If yes please write the command is necessary.

a867 driver loads, usbtuner creates the tuner in enigma2 but when doing a scan on channels nothing is found.

my skypen is reconized by openpli4 on vuduo (with af9035 driver) but no channels found

Pay attention because if I remember well two types of sky digital key are out in the air, green and blue led. Do not know about the green one.

Mine has blue led, and this is the usb-data returned:

I've been using this stick in my openpli 3.0 and 4.0 with the stand alone driver provided by Gennar1, I think driver used by all other images out there along last years. This driver was good up to kernel 3.4, as written in the comment of the author. After vuplus kernel update (3.1.1->3.9.6) I Iooked for a new driver. This device is supported now by the af9035 driver, but:

 

1- the src needs to be patched, to have xml5007 tuner running (you can find the patch in xtrend meta env: mxl5007t-add-no_probe-and-no_reset-parameters.patch)

 

2- when you have the correct driver patched you need other modules, as dependencies:

     so you must install the modules and the firmware for your machine, here my complete list

This way i have the sky IT digital dvb-t key up and running on my vuduo 3.9.6 kernel openpli4.

In the end after all your hard work you will discover that, as stated on linux-tv.org by the v4ldvb devs, the driver for this device runs unstable!

And if you refer the behaviour to our boxes, perhaps you will have the problem i experienced, neverending spinner when shifting from dvb-s to dvb-t tuner.

Random, no way to understand because no log, only reboot solves.

What about Solo4K (which has a different CPU)? Can I use some of the packages above?
