Does anybody know if a plugin exists for SAT>IP - or if there is any other work ongoing in order to support SAT>IP?

Hi,

On your client box, install the plugin:

opkg update
opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-remotestreamconvert

Go in the plugin configure your server details, select the favorites that you want to convert, zap and enjoy!

You will have the same result as sat>ip

Hi Pr2,

this is different from SAT>IP.

@nOdder,

recently I read a post that someone simply could enter an url of a SAT>IP receiver in his channel list and could watch TV. I tried to search for that post but was not successful. It might be possible that at least some of these receivers stream similar like an E2 box.

ciao

@Trial,

First think why n0dder ask this... so yes remotestreamconvertor is the answer. Give it a try...

It is not 100%  SAT>IP but it does the same.

For your remark it is also possible to add stream into Openpli channel list, the easiest way to achieve this is to use Dreamboxedit...

I totally agree with n0dder, it's definitely not the same. It's nice, when People like to bring 4 or more Sat Cable to a central box to stream the signal from there. But that could not be the future.

Sat>IP is something like the Netceiver from Reel. It will be the solution to bring the sat signal over one RJ45 Cable to multiple boxes. They will use directly the SAT>IP Transponder Stream.

There are two Solutions for the Sat>IP Server:

- LNB with a integrated SAT>IP Server (8 Streams)

- SAT>IP Server for Traditional LNBs

(http://www.satip.inf.../sat>ip servers)

The first solution is very interesting. You need only a RJ45 Cable to the LNB and on the other end a POE Enabled Switch or the included POE Power Adapter.

The SAT>IP Protocol is documented (Attachment)

There is also already a implementation for VDR and it works on VDR without any changes in the channels.conf:

http://www.saunalaht...enbe/vdr/satip/

It will work for FTA Channels and for PayTV.

I hope that soon the developers of OpenPLi will see the positiv points and will implement a SAT>IP plugin also for OpenPLi.

Hi,

https://github.com/f...vb/satip-client is a client which should work with E2-Boxes.

You might also want to try the remote fallback tuner setting with an enigma2 receiver (client) that doesn't have any tuners operational.

I have try to use "fallback tuner" option with my reciver that have tuner but with not conected sat cable. Looks that in this situation reciver is not trying to use "fallback tuner" I have only error: "Tune failed!"

Do you have any idea how to use this fallback tuner in my situation? It is possible to use fallback tuner like that?

sorry for write post behind post, but I have error when I'm traying to edit post.

Maybe good idea will be to extend option: "Prefered tuner" and "Alternative services tuner priority" to add "fallback remote reciver" if is enabled.

I don't completely understand what you mean, but some hints:

Configure the url AND enable the option (there are TWO options).

Fallback tuner doesn't work with alternatives, it has to do with the way enigma2 handles alternatives, it won't call the relevant piece of code for alternatives, but even it would, it would make no sense, because enigma2 can never know if a fallback tuner succeeds. It's a FALLBACK, a last resort.

I know that it works without any tuner installed, I've used it many times that way.

The most common error is that people don't merge the lamedb of both receivers. You need to have a "merged" lamedb on the "local" receiver. The best way is to copy the lamedb from the remote receiver to the local receiver and then on the local receiver, if it has tuner/positions that the remote receiver doesn't have, run a complete scan of all tuners to fill in the missing tuners/positions. You now have a completely "merged" lamedb and all tuners/positions from the remote receiver will show up in the "all services", "satellites" and "providers" selections. Also if a service is selected that cannot be tuned to because all local tuners are busy, the fallback will also be used.

Ok, I will try to explain my example.

I have the same list in two recivers one with the doble tuner with both cables connected, and other receiver with only one tuner, but not connected to dish.

If I have the same list in both recivers they are complitly "merged"?

In the second I have configured "fallback tuner" and informed URL. It is all that are necesary?

Maybe I'm doing something wrog, but I do not have idea what is wrong.

In the situation described I have always "Tune failed!"

Any idea what I need to check, analize in debug, or in other place in main reciver, or maybe in slave reciver?

The problem is that on the receiver that only has one tuner and that has no cable connected, you need to DISABLE the tuner (set to "not configured"). If you enable a tuner, enigma2 will always try to use it, enigma2 cannot know if a cable is actually connected. So disable the tuner and it will work.

I assume you get the "tune failed" because it tried to tune first, before using the fallback?

Because normal stream entries don't care if there is a tuner or not.

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

No he must not. This system is an alternative to the remote stream converter plugin (and in the end use the same mechanism).

Believe it or not but this means you're going forward. It means no data is received from the other side. That can mean the channel cannot be tuned to or it cannot be decoded or there is a problem in your network or you didn't set the remote host url correctly.
