good evening.

im just currently running an openpli4 build for the solo2.  all is going ok. ive not done this since pli2.1

now i also have a gigablue quad, but this device isnt supported by openpli.

i was wondering how hard would it be to add this machine to my build environment?

i have a general idea but before i start the work to try this could you tell me if this is what is needed to do it.

add correct machine.conf

edit recipes-bsp with gbquad folder containing driver.bb

edit recipes-linux with gbquad linux kernel defconfig +.bbs etc.

and possiblly enigma2.bb  im not sure yet.

is this possible?

is there also anything im missing from the above list to make this happen?

thanks

rossi

Sounds about right yeah.

There are teams that already support the gigablue, it'll save you quite some work if you start with their OE layers.

E.g. use OpenATV gigablue image. There is also a support forum:

Xtrend ET-9200, ET-8000, ET-10000, OpenPliPC on Ubuntu 12.04

.......plus oe-a dont have a support forum.

See http://wiki.opena.tv...itle=Hauptseite for links to the support forums of the OE-Alliance members.

i dont know any images based off OE-A/Enigma2 except those images made directly by a team.

although they are open source i dont think there geared towards people building them and editing etc.

openpli on the other hand is even setup for people to build them.

while the base image is very sturdy there is alot more you can do with the pli base.

its a shame pli dont support the gigablue quad, im sure they have there reasons.

anyhoo

i added the quad to my build environment, i took some bits and bobs from oe-a oe, edited them etc all is building ok until it gets to the patches for the linux kernel.

it keeps telling me cannot find terminal drop to a devshell or something along those lines.  not sure why it cant apply the patches as the linux-kernel build with patches for the solo2 build no problem.
