I was thinking this was about the boot issue with DVB-USB sticks.... but now I see this was just a question for a type of stick...

I have a Nova-T for DVB-T..... so no DVB-S2 stick...

If your kernel supports the usb stick, probably will work.

But you don't mention what your STB or the usb DVB-S2/S stick is!

@athoik: do you mean it is Kernel task, NOT OpenPli task to work with USB DVB-S2?

First you need driver and guess kernel has the drivers.

Then OpenPLi or you can enable the driver into the build.

Same apply for DVB-T and WiFi sticks...

Usually a newer kernel means better support. With an ancient kernel you are lucky if it works.

Now, go complain to manufactures if the stick is not supported or create a backport (ouch!)

And is there any tutorial, how I can add the driver to the kernel?

Here is a list of devices: http://linuxtv.org/w...-S2_USB_Devices

If the driver exists on the feed install the kernel module, if driver exist but not enabled you need to enable it (make menuconfig), if driver exists on a newer kernel you need to backport driver (not an easy task) if no driver exist find another stick that drivers exist. Above page will help you.

But again you are not saying your STB and the stick you want to install.

Thanks for the link

Does it mean if I use one of these devices below, OpenPli will support USB DVB-S2 tuner and I will be able to use it as the secondary tuner, that is I

can watch one program on one tuner  and record a program from a different satelite on the other tuner?

Supported DVB-S2 USB Devices

(I use Dreambox 800 or SE)

Do you mean this is ONLY ONE that should work? Why not others from that list?Where is the problem?

All linux supported usb adapters with dvb-core stack should be working. No problem with linux kernel supporting these.
