Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

The change mentioned earlier should make sure the drivers are in the image by default.

The plugin is always something you need to install, most people don't use wifi, since it's not that reliable in relation to the strict timing constraints the box has (a slight hickup in data transfer means pixilation or hickups in the recording/playback).

Totally Agree with you regarding the lower quality of connection (and the decryption quality that comes with) but you may agree as well that the flexibility of a wireless connection is a great plus

That's why using the OpenPLi 3 since 72h ago without any kind of configuration problems i was expecting the same in version 4.

That's why i asked if could be possible to include the same "detection and auto install" in this release as well.

Regards.

There's no auto "install". Only auto "load" which needs everything to be installed before it can be loaded. And it wasn't installed. That has been fixed now. But our build server won't contact your box and spontaneously install something on it, so you either have to install it manually or fetch and flash a new image that has it pre-installed.

On the plus side, you can (un)plug network adapters without the need to restart Enigma2 now.

So that feature were present in OpenPLi 3 and removed in version 4?  as on version 3 i always found everything reeady to be configured without need to do any download and telnet commands.

is that?

thank's

Correct. Which as I understand has been corrected now.

hi

I am an old DM500 user, so I am new to wlan.

My wlan works only without encryption.

800sev2

Openpli 4

RTL81891su(driver rtl8712u)

i have done this:

opkg update
opkg install kernel-module-r8712u
opkg install firmware-rtl8712u
opkg install enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-wirelesslan

If I run  my wpa_suplicant manual it says something like
authentication fail, timed out.

I have tested WEP, WPA, WPA2 all the same.

My question is, can be my wlan chips encryption part broken, or what could be the problem?

If i manual execute:

killall -q wpa_supplicant
ifconfig wlan0 192.168.1.12 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
wpa_supplicant -iwlan0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.wlan0.conf -B -dd -Dwext

It works, so there is no HW problem.

I looked in network/interfaces
There is a workaround line like:
Post wpa_cli terminate

That sems no realy kill wpa_suplicant...

My problem with disconnecting WLAN resolved.

The problem was SSID name. My wlan was 6 character upper case.

Changed to lower case and now working stable.

I think wpa_supplicant has problems with SSID name all upper case.

Hope this info helps someone.

Thanks for none existing help.

Are we now actually helping people to get their clones working!?! The original DM800SE does not have build-in WiFi!! These are SR4 SunRay clones the Chinese wish to dump now because they still have thausends of them on the shelves...

Possible. But I don't see any reference to something built-in? Most WLAN sticks also use a realtek driver.

Hi to everyone.

I'm pretty new here and expecially with my new 800se

I've been running since 2 days ago the OpenPLi 3 image without any issue using my WiFi onboard. (recognized as r8712u

Once moved to OpenPLi 4 it's only available the LAN card.

Can someone be so kind to give some clear tips or ipk package to make it work on the new Image?

thank's a lot in advance for kind answers.

Alessandro

No? Clearly stated "my WiFi onboard"

Ah, I missed that, I only saw "WiFi card" in the title. In that case, this topic can be closed, there is no OpenPLi for a clone box.
