Hi

I am using the latest Openpli 4.0 on DM7020HD

I am trying to tune to a weak signal in 7e. I am using USALS.  The channel wont lock unless I go into the Fine Tune movement  menu and move the dish 5 steps to the west - then it locks fine. I press green to store position at 001 but as soon as I exit the menu, the dish moves back to the original position and the channel fails to lock.

What am I doing wrong? Please help!

Many thanks

Easiest is to go out to fine tune the antenna on the Satellites you have problems getting lock on, then all the other satellite positions to be tuned automatically but remember to reset all settings stored in USALS motor, and have exactly your latitude and longitude are getting quite right satellite positions on your satellite receiver

Yes, it is best but sometimes it is not so easy because the pole is not ideally vertical or the motor has some backlash.

And now in winter it is not always possible to run around rooftops fixing the installation, so I understand oregon.

I cannot reach the dish as it is on a high chimney - and I wouldn't know what to do anyway..

Is there no way I can store the position in this image settings?

You need to set the tuner to advanced. Then on all positions that work leave USALS as yes, and on the positions you are trying to fine tune set USALS to no, and give a position number. Then go into positioner setup and fine tune the position and save.

By the way, Huevos, where is this setting saved?

I mean, what happens if oregon does an online image update or if he uploads a new channel list to his box afterwards?

Thanks Huevos

But, what do you mean leave USALS on for all the positions what work?  Where is that menu? I only have options for Positioner or simple in Setup menu

You need to set the tuner configuration mode to advanced, not simple.

Post a screengrab of your tuner config.

Anyone, please?

Does anyone know where the individual rotor positions are stored when not using USALS?

This is very important when updating or reflashing so as not to lose these settings and be forced to store all individual positions again.

the rotor settings are the nims.

i always have a copy of this file on my pc because a use a vbox and after ive reflashed i just copy and paste all the nims settings into the new image settings file.

The actual positions are stored in the motor. So it is important to remember the position number allocated to each satellite.
