Yes, it's unavoidable.because in the case of the Ultimo or Duo2 you can have both AVL2108 and AVL6222 tuners in the same receiver and each requires it's correct binary.

It's a shame vuplus didn't (apparently) produce one binary for all, checking the exact tuner type itself.

>Yes, the Vu+ binaries are capable of only including a specific SR range, but that is irrelevant, because if they weren't you could still do this filtering in the .py file.

But in that case it wouldn't give any speedup.

Yes, but that's the way it is. Now we can only work with what there is.

But in that case it wouldn't give any speedup.

The major delay is the binary and subsequent service search, not the few microseconds it take the .py file to run.

I understand, but were talking of the situation where a binary wouldn't support selective SR scanning.

Erik, the OE-Alliance plugin runs through the output of the binary anyway and checks frequency, SR, etc correspond with the parameters the user entered. It's the only way to ensure these values are "clean" before handing them over for a service search... otherwise -> BSoD.

I'll have a look some time. But as said before, it already does some sanity checking.

If so, can someone also add it to e2openplugins or give permission to do so?

Is there any COPYRIGHT or LICENSING applicable on this code? I can't find any. I would like to add it to e2openplugins.

I'd like to have the GSOD crash log when running satscan, so I can fix it.

Yes there a license. And Dima73 said he was going to post the changelog.

I interpret this as, "we can fork it, as long as we keep the license". I see no authors that can be contacted.

Erik, I wrote most of the functionality of the current plugin a couple of years ago, but am not the original author. My starting point was the blindscan plugin from the ViX image. And since then it has been updated by Andy and various others from the OE-Alliance to add more tuner types and receivers.

Hmmm. Are you okay if I put the source on e2openplugins? The LICENSE permits so, but I'd rather have consensus.

On behalf of the OE-A: yes. That's what the licence is meant for.

And the OE-A does the same with a number of E2O- and other plugins.
