Well, my latest servicemp3.cpp patch is far from "stable" or finished... I already have a newer version myself and that one is startup playing FAST, and switching too.

But it will take me some more time before I dare to publish it. I'll have to overhaul everything and cutout all the dead wood.

Its great working on something for a change that is so well documented as gstreamer (in comparison to oscam ;) )

I'm now working on the refresh off basic current pl4 with gstreamer1.0 patch.

I noticed that the git exclude does not exclude the meta-local anymore , which result in including any local image changes into an eventual git patch ?? to bad.. my personal oscam stuff will be added.

Since no responce about the dubious base asound.conf which is made for all distro's using alsa , but not compatible to all boxes hardware.  I made I kind off work around only for vuduo2 .

Inserted and extra.bb package into meta-openpli/recipes-bsp/vuplus

added 1) a map named vuplus-alsa-state with file into it named asound.conf

added 2) vuplus-alsa-state.bb

content asound.conf for the vuduo2

pcm.!default {
	type hw
	card 0
}

ctl.mixer0 {
    type hw
    card 0
}

content vuplus-alsa-state.bb

DESCIPTION = "Alsa State A sound Config vuplus"
MAINTAINER = "vuplus cvr"
LICENSE = "CLOSED"
RDEPENDS_${PN} = "alsa-state"

PV = "1.0"
PR = "r0"

SRC_URI = "file://asound.conf"

S = "${WORKDIR}"

do_install() {
	install -d ${D}/etc/vupluscvr
	install -m 0644 ${WORKDIR}/asound.conf ${D}/etc/vupluscvr
}

pkg_postinst_${PN} () {
	rm -rf /etc/asound.conf
	cp -af /etc/vupluscvr/asound.conf /etc/asound.conf
}

changed 3) file vuduo2.conf into map meta-openpli/conf/machine (oh yes more a kind of dirthy hack but since the base way how the asound.conf is set is not very right ass well ... no other choice with my current limited knowledge)

In my previous patch, I forgot to add the latest servicesmp3.patch off theparasol. With the general git patch against the current PLI master (off today 11:00 am)

You now can build base image (whitout feeds) with gst-1.0 only. For vuduo2 it does now work perfect for all

Video MPEG2,MPEG4,MP4(quicktime typical mac),mov and all recorded movies 100 % no crash no bug

Audio mp3,flac,ogg,wav and wma  (these are tested by me) does run and play 100 % but a small issue is that it is very difficult to stop an on going play sandkeeper runs regularly but no crash accures.

 at this last issue theparasol is working and will be solved soon.

This patch applied to current pli4 master git will give a perfect base for wheater,

1) creation off new gst-1.0-PLI4 branch

or better 2) starting the next upstream with this as base, think its a good idea to remove all gst 0.1 in next upstream.

Christophecvr, your  GST-10-PLI4-20140212.patch is missing gstreamer1.0 support for xp1000 boxes, but I suppose this patch is only tested and working for vu boxes?

Yes curious I thaught it was in there ass well.

But the only is thing which you must do is changing the file  (I gues xp.inc) located in meta-openpli/conf/machines/include

Line 14

from gst-plugin-dvbmediasink

to gstreamer1.0-plugin-dvbmediasink

And then for the asound config I don't know. (best try first when image is installed in box)

If mp3 (or the audio ) is not not playing with gst-launch

asound.conf needs to be changed You can do this on box self.

If its' the case Later on I will include this change for xp as I did for vuduo2

I thaught that the base for xp1000 was also adapted by athoik but did not checked it.

@Theparasol

Here the GST-1.0-pli4 patch against master off to day 11.30 Am

xp is adapted to use gst1.0 dvbmediasink , asound conf is corrected in same way as is done for vuduo2 this because pcm is also supported by xp hardware and configured in pli4.

This will normally build the openpli-enigma2-image  (not the feeds yet) whitout any single gst-0.1 file only gst-1.0 . A least if build is done from scratch.

I'm still struggeling with revising of the servicemp3.

Seems that after each stop of current stream and starting of new stream play the ringbuffer is increased by one, so ringbuffer1, ringbuffer2, ringbuffer3.

That cant be sound, if you ask me it should be released after each stop. But how to do it... I cant find any code that even setups a ringbuffer in first place!

Further if send a GST_STATE_PAUSED to start a stream I discovered the stream is already "playing" if it reaches "READY" state... why why, dont start playing in ready state.

If status hits PAUSED -> pause (= ok) but user heared already 3 seconds of music due to ready state, then 1 second silence due to pause state, then playing...

First time the complete buffer of gstreamer is sucked away into the sink causing an instant buffering message. Normally the pipeline should be set to pause untill buffering is at 100% again but if done so music stops playing till 100% is reached. So first time gstreamer buffer is dry, I added some code that ignores it and doesnt set the pipeline to pause.

If you ask me its due to something wrong in the sink code, they shouldnt start playing in "ready" state only in playing state.

All the state changes can be found in gstdvbaudiosink.c

Perhaps there is an error ?

here git patch for GST-1.0 against latest pli master off 20-02-2014 19:00 Hr.

This patch does contain also the possibility to build the feeds.

how:

First clone the standaard master git

then run make

the apply this patch to the git.

to build only base image use MACHINE=xxxx bitbake openpli-enigma2-image

to build the image and feeds MACHINE=xxxx gst10-image

It will build all the feeds ass well except one package not that is enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-livestream

Tested and works almost perfect on vuduo2 (only the audio play a bit difficult to stop) but works are in progress on servicesmp3 to solve that.

Should be ok for all vu and xp1000 builds.

for dm8000 not ok to play audio. dm8000 is ok for playback video files (MP4,movmpeg2,mpeg4) and recorded video files with gst-1.0 but audio full freeze off enigma2 no crash log.

using gts-launch-1.0 playbin uri=file:///xxxxx

It does play but a bit garbled and after some time it just stops no msg.

Think that dvb-mediasink and or subsink will need changes. for gst-1.0

Actually some progress was made, but again Enigma2 doesn't play well with GStreamer 1.X.

I would be nice if some of Enigma2 manufactures** pay/hire an GStreamer developer to do the hard work..

Well the patch is to old and will not apply anymore.

upstream is finished it is now master.

bitbake devshell ??? that command is unknown by me. Gues it exist but really don't know what it does.

To clone pli4 it is now

git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/openpli/openpli-oe-core (that will clone master which is the current pli4 you may ass well try the master-next gues they will call it pli5)

For the rest I just do

cd openpli-oe-core

make

cd build

source env.source

MACHINE=xp1000 bitbake openpli-enigma2.image (or openpli-enigma2-feed or if you made an own image <you're image>... )

The patch self is to old and will not apply anymore. I do not try gst-1.0 anymore

cd openpli-oe-core

git apply GST-10-PLI4-20140220.patch

But the patch file is to old and does not apply anymore.

The whole openpli-oe-core git is changed the structure is even changed. All the machine recipes are split out and now into a seperate meta-dir and so on.....
