I recently bought a Vu+ ultimo with software OpenPLI.

 

Hardware: VU + ULTIMO ( 1200E8 )

Image : OpenPLi 3.0

Kernel version : 3.1.1

Enigma : 2014-01-01

Last upgrade: 2014-01-30 16:20:50

 

2 tuners : DVB - C NIM Vuplus ( CXD1978 ) ( DVB - C )

 

HDD : Samsung 2TB HD204UI

 

TV : Sony Bravia KDL 40EX720

 

I have a Humax iHDR 5200c switched to this device and I am very happy but I have one problem with the device.

After an indeterminate / uneven time jumps the tv and ultimo on standby modus.

By pressing the standby button on the remote control of the ultimo or the standby button on the ultimo I can watch TV again (Tv and vu ultimo comes on again) .

 

I have checked all the settings that are displayed in the menu , but I can't find anything about this issue. The time in between is very different , for example 2/10/20/30/60/90 minutes.

On the Humax I never had this kind of issues so it's not a setting on the TV. Today I update the vu + ultimo to see if this solves the problem , until now , the device is not gone by itself to standby modus.

 

Has anyone else these complaints ? Could this have something to do with the remote controller? How can I solve this problem?

 

Please help me because jumping on standby modus once is not a disaster, but the problem persists and is now becoming annoying.

 

If you need any other information I would like to hear it.

I have had the same problem several times, the TV and the STB goes into standby by itself, no recognisable pattern to it as far as I can see.

Does it happen all by itself, or while you do something? I've noticed with the Duo2 remote, that sometimes when I press a button, it sees two events. In your case it could be the on/off keycode?

It happen all by itself. Today I'm gonna buy new batteries for the remote control and maybe then the problem is solved. I will post if this is the solution. If someone has other suggestions please let me know!

There is an inactivity-timer which can put the box in standby or deep-standby. But it should work only after a fixed duration, not a varying duration.

The inactivity-timer is located in the menu: menu -> shutdown/standby.

Sometimes I watch TV for hours and then suddenly it turns off (standby), and I do not touch the remote when it happens.

Thanks for the reactions. Sjaaky, I checked the settings you've told of but they are all inactive. Today I've the same standby problems. I watch tv for a hour without any problems but then it begins. Tv and ultimo goes automatically on standby modus. I got them out of it by pressing the standby button on remote control. Then after 2/5 minutes the same problem. I got them out of standby for the next time by pressing the standby button on the ultimo device itself but then also after 2/5 minutes same problem occurs. I've shutdown the whole system en remove the power cable of the ultimo. Hopefully I can watch now a whole soccer game without standby problems. I'm getting really crazy about this, please help me if you have any other suggestions. Thank you.

You don't have a joker in the house with a second remote do you? Or with access to the WebIf? Is your box exposed to the internet (if so, it might be hacked).

 

Start by going into Menu, Plugins, and start the HDMI-CEC plugin. Disable it, save, and restart the box to be sure. Now HDMI device control is disabled, so you can at least see if the TV puts the box in standby, or the box the TV.
