Hello,

I would like to install GP3 plugin in my DM800 with latest openpli...

Is it possible ?

I have downloaded the GP3 wizard plugin, and tried 3 times to install it, but each time after restart, i don't see it neither in plugin panel or in Blue button menu...

Any help please ? i like this plugin

Thanks

Ced

That is not possible... Why do you need it?

Really ? not possible ? even with with modifying some files  ?

In fact i need it for the options provided by blue button in others images

creating a swap, mountpoint, and all the options i had in GP3 panel on dm800 icvs image (personnalising panel by adding function to panel), or like on VTI Panel (see memory free, proccess) on my VuSolo,  ...

There is lot of functions in GP3 i haven't found in PLI..

I supposed i will found in Openpli on DM800 all those options in PPPanel, but it's empty... So i tried to replace Blue panel with something i know...

Unlike Icvs, PLI is updated, recent, and functionnal, but i miss the Blue button panel...

An OpenPLi image is not compatible with a DMM image, so you can't simply install code made for a DMM image.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

And all those functions you mentioned should be available in openpli... All you should find on usual menus. For swap you need to install a different plugin... Openpli is more then a dmm image with a blue pannel plugin attached for additional features.

I agree with this, but the problem, it the PPPanel which is not customisable with menus... as far as i know, if it's like OpenPLI on DM500, we should modify the PPPanel code to customize it...

Did it exist a plugin which permit to customise PPPanel ?

I some how agree with this friend.

First of all i have to announce that I am and used to be a fan of openpli because of many reasons.

-Great support

- Great Stability

-Being Very user friendly

- Less unnecessary modifications in the source codes

-Reliability specially for the plugins and downloadable items

.

.

.

But beside these advantages there are some points missing specially for Dreambox owners! (DM800hd PVR)

I have had a little comparison between OPENPLI and GP3 and faced following results

1- as I said before the openpli image (even and old one for my DM800) wins in mentioned fields specially in stability and functioning

2- A very important plugin for some users like me (staying in iran and facing sever filtering) is openvpn. Although I can install and run it through the telnet terminal but there is a little plugin missing here for activating and DE-activating this function

3- Now a days most of people are dependent on their smart devices specially for sharing photos and videos which leads us to DLNA sharing systems (vlc sucks on android devices!) and here is the exact point that you need a user friendly client plugin for using shared media and an advanced plugin to make up ur DLNA server on your STB. and this is what GP3 easily offers and openpli doesn't!

4- Some people find it very useful to be able to customize the skin information fields. Despite of GP3, you can not (at Least I could not) customize the information fields on my skin for example the transponder info, the ECM and ... and although I can have this information on second info-bar but customizing the skin is another story

5- for Setting up swap as mentioned in previous before

I think a little upgrade on ppanel can resolve most of these disadvantages and make this image the best even for old fashioned dreamboxes!!!!
