Hi All,

I'm looking for a little advice here.

I've had my Max-Digital-XP1000 15 months now and had no problems with it until last night.

It recorded a scheduled program/timer event but on review it only recorded the subs. Didn't think anything of it at the time, bad weather etc.

This morning when I turned on my TV (AV1-XP1000) it displayed "Tune Failed".

The menu's all worked, plugins, epg..etc. Sat configuration was correct., just NO signal.

So switched off mains at rear of XP1000, checked all cables, tested the PSU (which showed 12v DC perfect).

I moved to another working feed in my house, but when powering up, ALL LED's started RAPID blinking (2 LED's on Front of STB & Both Ethernet LED's & PSU LED).

I rarely power down the box, usually soft reboot from telnet or the remote.

I'm going to get a new box today, just thought that if it's something fixable, I won't need to buy 2 new boxes. (Planned and Replacement).

So a little Help from XP1000 owners would be great. Also from Happy long time owners of other PLi supported STB's

thanks Colin

Tried reflash? Fat32 USB stick with the XP1000  folder on it. With disconnected lan cable. When 2 leds showing red, press [channel +] and release, right led should burn purple. Else contact your supplier, if in EU should still be under warranty. 2 years,

Thanks for the reply,

I have managed to get the box working (menu's, plugins, etc). But I am still getting the on screen message "Tune failed!" and of course NO picture.

The flashing LED's problem, still persists after a full power down, although this changes from rapid blinking to normal after a few minutes. It was at this point I could do a soft restart and flash a clean image.

I haven't pursued the UK supplier over warranty as I thought it was only for a year. So I will take a better a look at the paperwork.

Another receiver is OK on the same LNB/cable?

Try different PSU or try measurement, when is PSU not idly, if it is 12V still ( Idly PSU on my XP1000 has cca 12,23V). Usually, when is PSU corrupted, then on devices is suspicious led discoteque...

Any suspicious smell ?

Note: do not plug antene into box, when box is powered on - it is good way for V/H circuits go to silicon heaven

Buy rather some new PSU with default current little higher, than was on PSU for XP1000. I think, DM500's PSU will not work long.

The Supplied PSU was 12v @ 2amps (I opended it up and the primary Transistor looked like bad soldering. Small burns on the PCB, Also had a bit of a bad smell)

The test DM500 is 12v @ 1amps. Not about to use ilt long term as my Wife is still using the DM500.

Going to try and source a 2amp of better quality from the original suppliers, o.r the net

Thanks everone :)

Just very happy it's not another Dead Box.

Just another Dodgey PSU story that were around 5 years ago.

I think, any 12V/3A (36W) will be better than original 12V/2A :)
