hi guys!

- vu+ solo2

- 500gb sata hdd

- openpli 4.0 updated as of today (moved from vti 6.0.5)

i got a really annoying problem with the mediaplayer. whenever i start a movie (only tested various 1080p mkv's), it starts playing at time position 1:xx:xx / -0:08. i always have to seek back to the beginning of the movie. in project valerie i don't have this problem, there it starts normally at the beginning. how can i fix this?

Hi All,

I'm new here and I've got exactly the same very annoying problem. I've not been able to fix it.

Thanks for your help.

You do not need to use the mediaplayer. Use the pvr button and see whether the problem still consists?

Hi, I have the same issue, some of my MKV files start playing at the end, some at approx. 10%, some are fine. I tried to remux those files, but still the same.

Please help to resolve this, it's really annoying :)

I'm starting from the recording list

I have vu+ duo2

I have the same problem + i can't activate external srt to work. If i enable subtitle file the video jump on the end. If i have enabled auto enable external subtitle subtitle does not start at all. It happenes with MP4 , Mkv

I did not check other images because i love openpli only.

Btw regular external video playback work without a problems on slow and old vu+ duo nut not on brand new duo2, really annoying

Can you fix it please guys?

On one hand, the mkv support in gstreamer has some "known features", that were we are dependent on the gstreamer development team. There are newer versions of gstreamer, of which we are in the process to include, but the mkv handling isn't significantly better.

On the other hand, I've seen so many badly multiplexed containers, that I am not completely surprised if it doesn't work sometimes. I've been making mkv's myself for a couple of years now. They all have h264 video, aac audio and one or two subtitle tracks embedded and they're multiplexed using mkvmerge. Sometimes playing doesn't start too enthousiasticly, it may take up to three attempts to get it running (but that is really seldomly the case).

What do your mkv's have inside? Does it have dts tracks? Multiple audio tracks?

I''ve moved Hdd from duo to duo2. So i tried the same files and not a single one works in duo2 and was OK on duo. Some files are hd some sd. Sd with acc audio track plus external srt file. Hd are ac3 plus external srt. Everything work very bad really, you cant skip, forward, backward , nothing . It is just strange since all that looks like should not be a problem on so powerful stb as duo2

Ps. i did not manage to get subtitle srt to work at all even on files playing normally from the beggining

It almost looks like you have a problem with your harddisk or disk interface. I don't recognise these problems at all from the solo2.

New drivers are released today for duo2 (improved media playback). Maybe that is the fix ?

Not that strange, gstreamer does have it ways every now and then. Especially in concerto with drivers and kernel.
