The 'MultiBoot tool' of the new OpenSPA-3.00 can install and boot PLi4 images (BH can't boot). Here's a shot of my Duo2:

to download/install 'MultiBoot':
-flash this image on Duo2: 'openspa-3.00-vuduo2-20140228_usb'
-than download 'multiboot' in: Menu, System, 'Plugins OpenSPA'
-restart GUI - (after that 'MultiBoot' is in Plugins)
-open 'MultiBoot' plugin, select USB as target.
to install PLi4 on Multiboot:
-copy 'OpenPLi-4.0-beta-vuduo2-20140302_usb.zip' to /media/usb/MultiBootUpload
-open 'MultiBoot' plugin, than 'Install Image' (green), select 'OpenPLi-4.0-beta-vuduo2-20140302_usb', set 'copy settings to the new image'=yes.

You mention this option in combination with VU+Duo2 (big internal memory).
Is this also possible on the old VU+Duo (small internal memory) ?

@rtzhjgg0, this is another chroot based multiboot? Or you tried something new? (There is no image for dreamboxes so i cannot test).
PS. OpenSPA multiboot is open source?

I think OpenSPA multiboot uses software without asking permition from his owners.
There is nfidump (an old version) and most probably a modified version of meoboot (from leaked files)

After 2 positive test weeks I switched to this configuration (multiboot with OpenSPA-3 on flash).
It can manage perfectly not only Pli4, but all actual images like VTi606, ViX-Zeus etc
-To backup and restore my multiboot images, I use this commands:
tar -cf /media/hdd/Multiboot_tar_backups/IMAGENAME.tar /media/usb/MultiBootI/IMAGENAME tar -xvf /media/hdd/Multiboot_tar_backups/IMAGENAME.tar -C /

does it work on VU+ solo boxes too,
or just un Duo?
