solo2 after update still updates available

hi

this whole week after updating the solo2 there where stil 2 updates availble

even after downloading these 2 updates they where there

today even 6 updates that are not installed?

This has already been discussed several times.

 

There was a dependency issue with one of the images a while back. You will keep having this, until you either force the updates through on the commandline, of flash a new image.


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Aside from that, the images for solo2 and duo2 haven't been build for a few days due to errors.

in telnet enter following command;

init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade -force-overwrite && reboot (tip; copy/paste) ;)

I been looking but could not find anything about it

anyway I installed what dirocca said (thanks)

that seems to have fixed 2 updates

however now I have 4 updates left available

but when downloading

 

uploading complete 0 packages where installed

 

after reboot allways 4 packages left?

I have patience, but it took me less time to just flash a new image then the time I spend so far trying to fix it

besides a fresh clean install is never bad is it?

It's rather that I prefer to find the problem and fix that, so I know the next time.

You may have to do this one time to break the "circular" dependency:

 

opkg install vuplus-transcoding

 

if that doesn't work try:

 

opkg remove enigma2-transtreamproxy-util enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-transcodingsetup

opkg install vuplus-transcoding

for me who also had this issue, first opkg remove enigma2-transtreamproxy-util enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-transcodingsetup and then opkg install vuplus-transcoding

In theory it should be sufficient to only do the latter, then the first package should be autoremoved. On the other hand, the whole process should been have automatic anyway :mellow:

Went through these motions but after completing and rebooting the transcoding plugin is no longer among the installed plugins??
I had to run the opkg remove command before running opkg install vuplus-transcoding which ran without any error messages.
What can I do now? I have vu solo2

It's a common misconception that you need a plugin for transcoding. What needs is

- setting up some /proc entries (including enabling the encoders)

- a proxy that listens to port 8002 and 8003 for requests

 

If you do netstat -lptn you'll see the proxies listening.

Tried to rerun the commands but no luck:
Opkg remove .... Returns 0 packages removed
Opkg install vuplus-transcoding returns package up to date

Transcoding plugin has disappeared from plugin menu and transcoding doesn't work any longer.
