The streamproxy does not give an m3u file, that's the task of the web interface. Any data you receive is a http stream containing transport stream data. I does seem vlc has some problems playing that, while e.g. mplayer can play it just fine, just like multiple video players on android. If you're going to watch transcoded streams on a pda, I'd really suggest using an app, like the VU+ one.

When I installed OpenPli 4 for about half year ago the transcoding work very well on my Vu+ Duo2, but since you remove transcoding config it has never work as before.

I can't no longer see any program from no channel without lagging. Horrible quality.

If I install latest Black Hole image, it work very well. Why? Please can you fix this... Please.

@kers

in OWIF-settings, see if the extended information is enbaled. I don't recall the correct name in this moment. If it is enabled, then disable it and try again with VLC

@chelsea
perhaps you are using a very low bitrate? There is a config-file for the streamproxy. Use FTP and increase the bit-rate value.

Thanks! Solved!

It is the "Add service name to stream information" option, which results in the below line in the playlist file. This confuses vlc for some reason.

#EXTVLCOPT:program=33

By the way, could someone educate me why the default transcoding uses baseline profile and level 3.1? Wouldn't high profile and 4.0 result in better picture quality with the same bitrate?

Also, is it possible to set the framerate in /etc/enigma2/streamproxy.conf?

Or use the VU+ app, where you can select the bitrate from within the app itself (imho always better than changing the default value).

The default value has been set very low for two reasons:

- the solo2 has problems with higher bitrates

- several people complained that the default rate was too high

Port 8001 = enigma, not streamproxy. Authentication does work, but maybe there is another problem with vlc.

The defaults used, are the defaults that VU+ uses in their drivers. These are the values you'll find right after booting. I have found these values work best, probably because they are tested more thoroughly by VU+.

The reason that VU+ selects these values in their drivers is probably because it makes the stream compatible with almost all portable devices. Of course you're free to select level 4.0 and profile high, I used it all of the time. Then also add b frames level to 2. Most modern devices will play it this way.

On the other hand, I've never seen much impact when changing these values, so you might be disappointed ;)

I've left out support for the framerate feature (completely) on purpose. The feature doesn't seem to work. I never see anything other than 30 fps output, whatever I set the framerate to. Using same values the transcoding engine won't work at all or crash. So I guess this feature is (another...) balloon of hot air.

Does the app freeze, the reception or the receiver?

Yes, I've seen this before. It seems to be something with certain Android versions. What happens if you use an external player, like vplayer? Then it probably works. Also, do you have the latest version of the app (2.0)?

What I mean is that you configure the VU+ Player app to use an external player.

With BH image no problem on external player

On OpenPli freeze

On the external player does not write the name and no EPG
Can you do normal work transcoding on VU + Player like BH?
-_-

You might want to try a lower bitrate, apparently other images use lower bitrates. I can't guess that though.

Neither does that on other images. I can't work miracles.

Yes. It's called: download & flash BH.

You tried VU+ Player independently on a transkoding?
Tried to change bitrate directly in the app?

That is something I don't have control over in the streamproxy. If that doesn't work, file a bug report with the VU+ Player. Or at least give some meaningful information like the logging from streamproxy, so we can see if the correct request has been sent.
