Hmm, somehow I don't remember that as being quite a high quality. But I might try it later. Thx.

He mentions the app DreamDroid in his post, so I guess that is what he uses...
Yes, many people use this app
It works with the streams which have authorization.
Previously worked transcoding, now this thread is not being played on smartphones
With the streams from port 8001 and authorization is no problem!!!
Need fix transcoded stream!
On the image of BH work both Stream 8001 and 8002 ports

It has been a long time since all Enigma2 images were "more or less" the same. BH is a DMM derived image (so is VU+ own image), you can't compare the two.
How are you testing this? At home, via wifi on the LAN? Or via any public medium that might be unreliable? When you test this, can you see the connection on the box using 'netstat -np | grep 8002' ?
What are your exact configuration settings when it comes to auth? Both for de WebIf and for the streamproxy itself? And how have you configured the app? Are you testing this on a freshly flashed image, without the use of any config backups or autoinstalled (i.e. you have to have used the setup wizard after flash!).
We keep telling you that "it doesn't work" without any additional information doesn't make us want to look into it...
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Hmm, somehow I don't remember that as being quite a high quality. But I might try it later. Thx.
I was confused with another app.
I have installed DreamDroid and will do some testing later on today.
In the meantime, it appears DreamDroid does not have an internal video player. You must select an external player to play the actual video stream. This is crucial. What external player are you using?

Does not really matter. The main thing that worked the claimed function
Now on BH - works transcoding, on OpenPli - no
How are you testing this? At home, via wifi on the LAN? Or via any public medium that might be unreliable? When you test this, can you see the connection on the box using 'netstat -np | grep 8002' ?
I test at home via LAN
192.168.0.11:80
192.168.0.11:8001
192.168.0.11:8002
- i make video how work on PC.
On BH image - open when click 1st time
On OpenPli - open when click, then copy and paste url to player. (look video)
When play on PC
root@vuduo2:~# netstat -np | grep 8002 tcp 0 0 ::ffff:192.168.0.11:8002 ::ffff:192.168.0.2:52867 TIME_WAIT - tcp 0 0 ::ffff:192.168.0.11:8002 ::ffff:192.168.0.2:52872 TIME_WAIT - tcp 0 1252 ::ffff:192.168.0.11:8002 ::ffff:192.168.0.2:52873 ESTABLISHED 1144/streamproxy
In mobile immediately breaks
DreamDroid work well maybe 3 month ago on OpenPli, then you remove plugin transcoding settings - and broke stream.
What are your exact configuration settings when it comes to auth? Both for de WebIf and for the streamproxy itself? And how have you configured the app? Are you testing this on a freshly flashed image, without the use of any config backups or autoinstalled (i.e. you have to have used the setup wizard after flash!).
I flash clean image, then i install passwd
root@vuduo2:~# fgrep auth /etc/enigma2/settings config.OpenWebif.auth_for_streaming=true config.OpenWebif.auth=true root@vuduo2:~#
and i make this http://openpli.org/f...-20#entry421054

In the meantime I am on to something in combination with vplayer, something with url escaping (%3a -> ':') which has always been working previously. May have to do with vplayer itself, we'll see shortly.

I already found the probable cause and fixed it. '%' and '+' url expansion was done on all url parameters, and that's why it works with e.g. mplayer using syntax "/stream?service=1%03a1%03..." But the url expansion wasn't applied on plain url without cgi parameters, leaving the service as "1%3A0%3A19%3A5225%3AC99%3A3%3AEB0000%3A0%3A0%3A0%3A" which enigma doesn't understand.
You can check tomorrow. On DreamDroid using vplayer this fixes the problem.
So, a clear case of good data in leads to good data out (fast fixing of bugs).

Unless you need IPv6 support for streaming on port 8001, you do not need to perform the steps I described in that post in your link anymore.I flash clean image, then i install passwd
root@vuduo2:~# fgrep auth /etc/enigma2/settings config.OpenWebif.auth_for_streaming=true config.OpenWebif.auth=true root@vuduo2:~#and i make this http://openpli.org/f...-20#entry421054
config.streaming.authentication=true(config.OpenWebif.auth_for_streaming becomes meaningless without the original streamproxy)

If it works on a tablet (android) it must work on a mobile (android) as well. I can't say anything about other operating systems.

I am considering that, not for the sake of the webif, but simply because it's a poorly choosen name in retrospective. If you would be so kind to rename your transcoding proxy binary to transproxy or whatever, I could modify OpenWebif to toggle the E2 setting for internal streaming if internal streaming is used.
Finished considering. Not going to do it. Too much impact package-wise and also, it handles all of
- live transcoding
- file transcoding
- live streaming
- file streaming
So the name ís actually completely correct.

Very helpful *g*Finished considering. Not going to do it.
Posted 16 May 2014 - 14:27
That is a consideration I am not yet done with.
Pro: easily configuration from within enigma, given someone (not me...) writes a plugin that comes with the package to change the settings
Contra: most settings are actually defaults and for most people they never need to be changed, also streamproxy.conf is now under package control which has some advantages; last but not least, the configuration now is tightly integrated with the command line options using boost::options, using enigma config I'd have to give that up.
You'll know it when I am done with it.

As soon as three (different!) people request for IPv6 support on streaming, I'll try to advocate the case.As soon as the internal streaming support can handle IPv6 / Dual Stack connections, there is no need to use the original streamproxy anymore.

I understand you found the problem why stream with transcoding not work on mobile phone?
As for the plugin
I hope you will return it. Because 98% of users are not able to go to the receiver by ftp
They buy receiver is already configured
easier change settings transcoding from remote control by the plug-in
