Hello Willy,

i would like to know if it is possible to add a script that automatically deletes epg.dat file to make a clean import.

I automatically import epg datas once a day at 14.00, and every day i get duplicated entries on fox and skyuno channels ( maybe i have them on other channels, but i usually watch these ones so i'm pretty sure they are affected by this issue )

So every day i must stop enigma2, then delete epg.dat file manually through ftp client, restart gui and run xmltvimporter.

So i would like to find a quick solution to this issue :)

Thank you very much

ps: italian epg it's perfect now, well done!

There is no need to do this... As when enigma2 is closed it will right back a new epg.dat... And when opening enigma2 it will read the just written back...

When you import epg you might consider to block eit epg import to avoid the double epg....

littlesat, as far as I understand, vinhex may be talking about double entries within XMLTV Import (excluding EIT).

Some time ago I experienced the same for Eurosport.

This is because schedules on websites are changed (sometimes by just a couple of minutes) from day to day.

And with that in mind, vinhex's request is indeed justified.

To whoever maintains this plugin: can you please consider adding an option of deleting EPG before the new import.

Thanks.

Thanks.

That would only make sense if the XMLTV-importer is the only source of EPG-data.
To give just one example: Open-TV in Cross is a very reliable and up-to-date source of information for UK & IT services. So a combined use of both plugins (Cross for Open-TV, XMLTV-importer for other sources) can be very useful. That is not compatible with your suggestion.

It is because I suggested it as an option.

So in your case you would disable the delete function from XMLTV Import plugin.

I agree, these double entries are annoying.

However, I learned to live with them.  Until there is some better way of deleting the epg for only the channel you are importing.

But nobody seems to know how this can be accomplished.

The same applies to enable/disable EIT-EPG for selected channels.
e.g. I would like to keep EIT activated in general, but to disable it for services for which I have Open-TV or XMLTV.

Here is today's example on a channel.

Have a look at the times.
