@littlesat

I think here are still some people who just don't understand how it works.  :D

@SatKiekerd

Just accept it that it is not working for all services. It's only working for services which have properly set the encryption flag in the SI-Data.

And remember dreamboxEDIT supports the encryption flag sice 3 years!!!, thats when DMM added it on my own request on their images.

I will not change anything on the behaviour of dreamboxEDIT as its working as intended. There is no need to edit the encryption flag manually! There isn't even a encryption flag in the lamedb it's just a fake caid C:0000 which is written on service scan. You can edit it manually in the extra parameters, but as said that makes no sense at all.

1- Does this mean that a FTA-scan will find many encrypted services?

2- I do not accept this behaviour; as it is now I will use the 'auto-zap' plugin for better results. And as tuning does get the correct settings, I'm still convinced that there may be a decent way to scan.

3- I don't understand why DBE doesn't allow for manually changing the flag. After all, DBE allows to change all parameters if you have better ones then the box (or settings file) has. So why not for this parameter?

Of course I realize that we're a big step closer to a perfect box now. But still some work to do (hopefully :) ).

1. Yes... I mentioned before...

2. Complaint at all those providers who transmits incorrect "meta" data - Indeed zapping to all channels makes it better... but is also slow... But what about channels that are not always encrypted. It is still an indicator this way,

3. I far I understood you could add/remove CAIDs in DBE

Absolutely, but that's a limitation I can live with. You can't catch 'Dynamic' parameters.

Also strange: BBC 3/4 (SD & HD) show the encrypted flag on a daytime scan; will see if the flag will be reset when the service is active tonight.

No, they don't disappear on tune even though the channels are FTA.

Hmmm, the flag once set remains in place; and even DBE can't change it.
Now I'm not sure anymore if this feature is useful; at first I was very happy it to be implemented, but the limitations appear to be endless.

I remember my good old Inverto 7000 always showing the correct flag.

Even that invento is not capable at this moment to show it correctly... As the providers made a mess out of it...
Possibly something needs to be added that if a channel is fta the m_ca cache will be cleared....
Does some of our openpli based image also have that in between?
From the beginning I told this is difficult to get right.

OK, that's very well possible indeed; years ago since I last used the Inverto.

Yes please.

As far as I know all but Open-SPA followed your changes.
So I'll flash Open-SPA to see how it works there.

Yep, and a challenge keeps the little grey cells alive and active!

Not sure why this warrants a negative reputation????

Only way to get rid of that for me was manually edit lamedb and then send it back to the receiver (init 4... init 3).

Good. I look forward to testing that.

It's a shame there is no way to override this flag  in DBEdit.

What are you talking about???

Again there is no such flag in the lamedb just caids which are cached.

Ok, scan 28E. 'Clear before scan' = yes.

Now the encryption flag shows on BBC3, BBC4, etc.in the channel list but these are FTA channels. Now if I import the channel list into DBEdit I can't see a way to correct those incorrect locked icons.

Maybe you should read what I written before? The lock is coming from the cached caids, if you remove the caids the lock is also gone.  :P

But somehow some people here just dont' read or still don't understand how the encryption "flag" is working...  :rolleyes:

Yes we are all aware how it works. So how do you remove the caids in DBEdit?
