The problem is lame programmers using an "int" to store time, while they should be using a "time_t" as is stated in the manual page. Time_t should be an unsigned int so this problems shouldn't occur. Unix doesn't know of dates < 1970, a time should always be positive 32 bits. Or even better 64 bits.

well, busybox date command (at least on our boxes) seems to be definitely affected by this y2038 bug

bart@bart:~$ ssh root@192.168.2.111
root@et9x00:~# date -D "%s" -d 2147483647
Tue Jan 19 04:14:07 CET 2038
root@et9x00:~# date -D "%s" -d 2147483648
Fri Dec 13 21:45:52 CET 1901

Hi

Nice for You but that does not work out. And the max partion size for fat32 is 4GB.

you have something mixed up. 4GB is max file size. Max partition size is 2/16TB. I use a 26GB partition of a 32GB stick.

ciao

small note one

Use an usb stick off max 2 Gb formated fat32

It's max physical 2 GB using a bigger stick with smaller partition does not work unfortunately I tried it.

I can support what Trial says about usb stick size:

My duo2 has an 8GB stick in one of its rear USB ports put-in permanently, one (first primary) 2GB fat32 partition for image flash only (files are transmitted via network), and the rest (ca. 6GB) is in second (primary) ext4 partition. I flashed different images many times (openpli mostly, of course) and I never had a problem.

Trough indeed.

Then it must be a problem on my specific 4 gb usb stick (which for the rest works very fine)

Ill try next time I wan't to flash another one off 8 GB or 16 GB

And indeed .

The problems about flashing is specifically related to one type !! off usb stick

The sandisk cruzer 4 GB usb 2.0 flash drive sdcz36 type. (I have two off them, both have it)

All my others whatever factory 1 Gb or 2 GB or 4 GB or 8 GB or 16 GB (also the sandisk) are all ok.
