hi pr2 thanks for the reply..appreciate it but that does not solve the problem for people wanting to use crossepg..This has only happened since they put version 0.8.1 in the feeds..It does not have a git and does not work..

Erm yes it does have a GIT here

. as for the reason its not working, just install the Libcurl dependency.

Yes v0.8.1 is the latest revision of CrossEPG.

Get this version of the feed it is only causing problems.

Every time I update my box it installs this version and it does not work for me so I have to uninstall it and install an older version

The OE-A version of Cross has been adapted to OE-A Enigma2 that is significant different from PLi's E2. So I'm not sure if it will work in PLi.

Can someone either A)Fix this plugin or B)Remove it from download feeds and leave older version there.

 

No-one has even bothered answering the problems,so until resolved i suggest it be removed.

I did opkg install curl but 0.8.1 does not update EPG....

 

Here what I do:

• I start crossepg with the remote
• quickly appears the info Reading channels (it finds 735 channels)
• than appears the info Reading titles, which remains apparently "locked" with no titles read

Please note that:

• the problem started with 0.8.1, no issue with 0.6.2
• the Reading titles windows doesn't show "0" titles read, it shows nothing
• I removed crossepg using the remote, restarted GUI, downloaded crossepg 0.6.2, restarted GUI but the box shows I am still using 0.8.1

Here enclosed you can find the log from this morning automatic execution (download_daily_enabled=1   download_daily_hours=6  download_daily_minutes=15)

 

My box info shown by Open Webif are as follows:

• Xtrend et9000
• Kernel version: 3.8.7
• Firmware version: 2014-07-10 13:54:05
• Gui version: 2014-07-08

How can I get 0.8.1 running?

Cross 0.8.x has been developed for OE-A images. As they (can) differ quite a lot from PLi-images, there's a good chance that 8.x won't run (properly) on PLi.
So either PLi should take aboard the many improvements that have resulted in version 8.x so it will run on PLi, or you should stick to the old version.

0.8.1 came with a opkg update + opkg upgrade execution, I did not do by choice: how can I prevent upgrade from 0.6.2 to 0.8.1?

After Installing Curl 0.8.1 works perfectly here and is way faster than 0.6.2 and it also has the option to defrag the database as well.

 

0.8.1 is much better than 0.6.2

Found a way to have epg. In Crossepg 0.8.1 settings I have:

• deselected Open TV
• deselected all the scripts
• selected rytec in XEPGDB

Now I have epg

 

In a few days I hope to confirm this solved.

0.8.1 uses your 2nd tuner in the background if you have one,and just your main tuner if you dont,but Open TV cannot possibly download epg data for you if your 2nd tuner is not on Astra at 28.2E

 

Your solution to use either Rytec or XEPGDB is probably the best option,just in case you forget to put your 2nd tuner onto the sat before you download the epg data using Open TV.

Cross 8.x is smart enough to know which free tuner is able to receive 28.2. No need to point a dish to 28.2 first.

is any pli staff gonna sort this problem?? it works ok but the fault i have now is that it no longer plays music while downloading the epg..it stays as a black screen..I must say this is very poor from openpli leaving this in the feeds for so long knowing it probably doesnt work 100%.Even if u select the older version on crossepg to install it still installs 0.8.1

That's not a fault; that's because the data is now being read from another transponder.
