The topbox has (i'm told) the standaard software.
Should i flash diferent software and if so how?
I have never used or worked with linux before but i am computerminded.
So any tips would be great.

Whether or not you need to flash different software depends on what you want to do.

If this box is just for watching TV, any software will do. If you want more, you have to decide what features are important to you, and look for a firmware image that matches your requirements.

For example, OpenPLi has a focus on the internals of the image, and on long term stability. And we're not that interested in looks, we like things clean and sober. So if you're into "chrismas tree skins", GUI's that are littered with information from encryption data to the weather in Tibet, you might be better served by another firmware image.

Also, when you want to do things with the box we haven't designed it for, you need some linux experience, as we don't believe in providing GUI's for everything. If you want to use the box for advanced stuff, you need to be an advanced user. This may be different with others, depending on what you want to do.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

All what you need is:

- formated USB stick as FAT32

- downloaded actual nightly build image for VU+ Duo2 from main page

- unziped downloaded file and placed whole "vuplus" directory to / (root) of your usb stick  (=> there will be /vuplus )

I have not duo2, but it could be same as on Vu ultimo:

- plugin USB stick into front USB, turn off and on box and then you will see on display, which button you must press for flash ( vuultimo it is "-")

when is all finished, there will be info about removing USB stick and turn off/on box.

When is PLi image in box, then in next days you can update from box with Software manager.
