I updated my vuduo yesterday and found a problem today.

If I try to do a software update today, my box will either freeze or more often crash and reboot.

If I try and see if there are any new plugins for download, the same will happen.

Perhaps I should add that my Network connection is fine and after doing a network test, I can confirm that all is green!

Today I was able to do the software update, but still cannot download a list of available plugins without the box rebooting every time.

I have not re-flashed the box.

@dog-man

Its possible that your flash maybe full buddy.

navigate to

/usr/share/enigma2/po/

and delete all of the language folders there except for the en folder then restart enigma2 and try again.

if everything is then ok we will need to move your complete extensions folder containing all of your plugins to your HDD to give you more space.

Ian.

I deleted all the languages except for English and it made no difference.

So, on a hunch, I removed crossepg and that seems to have fixed my problem.

I can't really see that I have limited space in the flash because I have a 512mb swap file on a usb stick, but I am no expert when it comes to this box and Linux.

space in flash does not expand into swap. swap is usefull, when is there not free ram

You can use "df" in telnet and you will see free space.

Perhaps it was crossepg at fault then, and removing it has fixed my problem.

I have always found when doing the daily update for crossepg it was always slow and clunky and took ages to complete and sometimes didn't complete.

is it possible you were saving the crossepg dat file to your flash instead of your HDD ?

Install 0.8.1 and make sure the save path is not your flash !

No, it was definitely my HDD I was saving to.

I did once try saving to my usb stick, but it was very slow, so changed it back to the HDD.
