Hello everybody,

Thank you for your great job.

Please, could you add to EPG Rytec Sources the channels of the Swiss cable operator ESR ? (www.esr.ch)

I've put in the bouquet only the unencrypted TV channels.

Thank you

See you

You can give it go from tomorrow on.

There are mixture off french, german and of course suisse channels.

For these you have to load the German/Suisse and the French sources.

There are also a number of channels from the UK.  These will need the UK source.

The same holds for the Spanish, Italian an Ex-Yu channels.  If you want EPG for those channels, you also have to load the respective sources.

(The box will only import for channels you have available on your box.  Not everything is imported).

For these channels I do not have EPG:

1:0:1:4B2:C:1:FFFF021B:0:0:0: Al Jazeera ara

1:0:1:130:3:1:FFFF01AB:0:0:0: Canal 9

1:0:1:454:B:1:FFFF0213:0:0:0: Canal9 SD

1:0:1:6A5:11:1:FFFF026B:0:0:0: Montagne TV

1:0:1:5E2:F:1:FFFF023B:0:0:0: Rouge TV

1:0:1:455:B:1:FFFF0213:0:0:0: RTR Planeta

From these Canal 9 seems important.  Can you tell me from which country this channel is.  So I can look further into it.

Pls. report channels which are not correct.  i.e. I linked the wrong epg to it.  (f.i. German epg instead of the French version)

Willy

Hello !

Thank you for the job. I will try tomorrow as you say and I will tell you if something is not correct.

Canal 9 (www.canal9.ch) is the regional channel of Valais. I'm not sur if EPG exists for this channel.

Hello !

I've changed my image from VTI to Blackhole. When I try to download from Blackhole EPG, I get nothing (I used csat for French channels and skyde for Swiss channels). What should I do ?

Thank you for your answer

Blackhole has a separate EPG system, which is incompatible with Rytec.

Although we still produce files for it, I would not recommend using it, as from the end of the week one of our servers will go in maintenance, and I am left with one.   And something has to give.  In this case the Blackhole version.

So insist at Blackhole they support XMLTVimport (EPGimport).

OK. I also tried tu use CrossEPG. It seems to work with most of the channels, but there are some channels which have the wrong EPG (D8, W9, NT1 and some others). Is this issue related with CrossEPG itself or with Rytec Sources ?

Crossepg has an issue with cable channels and sat channels mixture on one box.

If you only have sat channels or cable channels there is solution.

In \usr\crossepg\providers\ you will find the config files for Crossepg providers.

Open the ones you are interested in and replace:

rytec.channels.xml.gz

with:

rytec.channels-cable.xml.gz

or

rytec.channels-sat.xml.gz

Of course the one you are interested.

Willy

PS: the problem is that Crossepg does not use the Namespace of the channels.  But duplicate refs can exist on both the sat and cable, but with different channels.

Of course on sat and cable the Namespace is different.

I only have cable channels. I've done the change in rytec_france_xmltv.conf but the EPG for some channels is still wrong... What is the problem ?

OK. Delete all epg.  Also the Crossepg database.  (just delete the crossepg database)

The Crossepg database is still filled with the wrong epg.  And I know from experience that the only way to get rid of this is delete the database.

* How to erase all epg in your box

On OPenPli: Install Systemtools. One of the options is erase epg.

The second method is the manual one. I use the program DCC to do this but you also can use Putty or even a simple Telnet session in Windows.

Open a Telnet session to the IP address of your satellite receiver (in most cases Dreambox or Vu).

When you are prompted you can type behind the prompt #

init 4 (This will stop Enigma of working and if you were watching TV it will freeze.)

What I do extra is open a FTP session (in DCC you can switch easy to this) and then go to /tmp and see if there is maybe a file epg.dat, remove it and then go also to /media/hdd if you have a harddisk installed in your receiver and also check if maybe a fil epg.dat is there and remove it. Check also /media/usb
(This step is not always needed but I do it and it does not take a lot of time)

Delete the Crossepg database.

Now go back to the Telnet session and behind the prompt type #

init 3 (This will start Enigma again and after a while you will notice the screen will play again (if you were watching TV).

After this the EPG listings should be empty or only show Now/Next in the infobar, depending on how you have setup the EIT and EPG settings in the system menu.
(keep in mind if you have enabled MHW, EIT, etc then EPG listings will not be empty if you zap to those channels)

If after this you still have wrong epg, we have to look further.

But the problem you are complaining about with Crossepg is mostly caused by this problem.  Of course other problems could exist.

Thank you for your assistance.

I found no epg.dat, neither in /tmp nor in /media/hdd. But I found in this last location a crossepg folder that I deleted. After that the EPG was empty.

After downloading EPG from XEPGDB, some channels still have the wrong EPG.

I've just noticed that when I try to download sources from XMLTV in crossepg with the modified conf file, I get an "Invalid provider" error. Is there something wrong ? Here is my file (from /usr/crossepg/providers) :

XEPGDB is out of my control. Not from me.  And will always have the problem because for creating the files tehy use the full channels file, not the cable's file.

XMLTV providers.

Question: did the original XMLTV providers work, or was this also XEPDDB?

When editing  the conf file, did you not accidentally save it as an utf-8 file?  It should be an ANSI formatted file.

The file in itself looks OK.

I've just noticed that when I try to download sources from XMLTV in crossepg with the modified conf file, I get an "Invalid provider" error. Is there something wrong ? Here is my file (from /usr/crossepg/providers) :

You can resolve this problems only if you change an FTP Client. Do you need a proof?

1) Open your CrossEPG, upgrade the XMLTV provider from CrossEPG function.

2) Select an XMLTV TV from the list (for example Rytec France).

3) In this case, the download start.

4) Connect with FTP, go on /usr/crossepg/provider. Copy on your desktop the rytec_france_xmltv.conf ( do not open the file with editor, you have to an simply transfer), delete this file from  /usr/crossepg/provider. Now copy the file rytec_france_xmltv.conf from your desktop to /usr/crossepg/provider ..

5) If now you start the download, on screen you have to "CrossEPG: Invalid provider".

For example, FileZilla on mac has got problems. You can use iDreamX 2.7.

PS. Sorry for my english, i'm italian and I don't write english very well.

Hello everybody ! Thank you for your help and sorry for my late answer...

Everything works with rytec.channels.xml-cable.gz and XMLTV. Thank you doglover. I didn't remember which FTP client I used to transfer the conf but I didn't had any problem at that time. Thank you clouditaly for the explanation.

But there are 4 or 5 channels that have the wrong EPG. I will tell you as soon as I'm back home. Thank you again.
