Hi,

I have recently purchased DVB 800 HD PVR.

It was all working fine until I left from holiday (switching all electrical plugs off) only to return to find that the Receiver is stuck in a loop.

As soon as I switch in on it goes into a loop to set itself up but it just repeats the same process all over. I can't even reset it as it won't allow me since the receiver is stuck in a loop.

I am sending you few pics and I beg someone to help me please.  :(

Thank you kindly,

Bruno

Thanks,

How do I do that. My remote won't let me access the menu as it is stuck in a loop. Would you know a way of how to reset the box manually from the actual box?

Is your box network and internet connected? Do you know how to setup a telnet connection to the box?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Downloaded the firmware on my laptop and went ahead with the flashing process reported in the user manual.

However, I know get an error on my box (see the pic).Err01: No CA Found.

I know it sounds a bit corny, but you (as being the customer) has duty of information! You should have informed yourself about the product you are willing to purchase. If you did, you would know that a DM800HD-PVR is not produced by Dream since 2012. It was replaced by the DM800SE. Furthermore the price should have warned you off. An original was €420 once. This one probably not more than €150..

Since it is a clone, you simply can't use any original firmware. The security SIM will block further access.

The only way to revive your box is to flash the same clone firmware it had 'originally'. Contact your vendor or try to find out which SIM is in this clone box. Mostly shown upon booting. Look for info such as: SIM 2.1 or Ferrari. As long as the correct firmware is not loaded in the box, it wil refuse to boot...

Furthermore... Lots of plugins refer (and try use) the original hardware in the box. Having a clone drastically increase the risk of crashes... But anyway, now you know...

Looked at your pics.. You are in luck. The screen tells you to 'look at www.dm7020.com'. I suggest you visit this site and download the firmware for your DM800HD-PVR.. Needless to say this can only be achieved with a serial link (RS-232)..

Hi Mimisiku,

Thanks for your help. The product was given to me a present so not even know what it costs or what a clone even is. I just asked to watch some Italian TV and this is what I got! I will try and follow your suggestion. Hopefully it will resolve the issue.

Thanks,

Bruno

@mimisiku - www.dm7020.com is DMM website. That link is not reflecting accurately the product he got.

Most of the unknowing users will refuse to further use a clone product due to fact that its adding to much overhead on their time spent troubleshooting the box.

I hope it will. I have seen this problem on many many boxes offered to me to repair. 80% of these boxes are ripe for the bin as the 'original files' are never found.. If you live in Holland I can give it a peek...

Unfortunately for you,  you got the wrong answer to your question, you didn't need to flash your box at all, uninstalling the bonjour package was enough to solve your problem :(

Even if enigma is crashing, it is possible to set up a telnet connection to your box and uninstall packages.

the next time uninstall bonjour by typing the following command in telnet

opkg delete enigma2-plugin-extensions-bonjour

Although we're not used to give support on clones I will point you into the right direction.
Visit this site and here you find the solution I assume. http://www.dreamoem....SIM2-01-EDition
But beware, you could destroy your STB so be careful what to do..

Well, you won't destroy your box by throwing the wrong firmware into it. It will just leave you with a non-booting/working box (as you have discovered by now). As long as the bootloader stays intact you can flash it using the serial connector...

All,

I would like to thank you for all your replies. As I am not an expert at all on this I have decided to take it back to the person who has given it to me as a present.

I really do not want to cause more damages than good.

Anyway thanks again,

Bruno :)
