It's may strike you as odd but.... HDD's can get defective as well! Have not heard of losing the HDD just by installing TSMedia. Many more users on this site use TSMedia without serious problems. Check your HDD (preferably take it out and test it on a PC). Check for strange sounds emitting from the HDD (Click-Clack)...

Agree with SatKiekerd ,no logic behind that TSmedia disables HDD,TSmedia only access hdd for recording by using default enigma technique,no mount,no format no initializing hdd
regarding TSpanel also there is exaggeration and if you do not touch the TSpanel device managaer tool,TSpanel shoud not cause any problem to external devices
i am using both tools extensively on more than 10 boxes of different models and i do not have similar problem to external devices
TSmedia not in the feed of openpli because they claimed it includes illegal material while similar plugins like mediaportal and xbmcaddons are in the feed!

I don't exaggerate the problems with TS-panel.
Look at the huge amount of reported issues (I could reproduce it on several PLi-based images): they are caused by the fact that system-files are being overwritten.
And due to that de-installation of that plugin can't be done: a flash is required.
And than again: why would one 'need' such a plugin?

To spy on one's wife... all them webcams, world-wide, aaaaahhh....
Seriously, it does have some good sides, you know...
But anything could be better, I suppose...
