LCD4Linux error on VU+ Duo2 after Update 2...

's foto cd_74 26 jul 2014

Dear All,

with the Update of OpenPli 4 on VU+ Duo2 from 20140725 and 20140726 there's an Error with the new LCD4Linux PlugIn.

The Error is named: "Error PlugIn, missing Module, no Box Branding".

If you downgrade to Enigma 20140719 and LCD4Linux (4.0+git609) everthing is OK and working fine.

Is there any Solution known ?

Thanks in Advance

They have build problems, wait a few days to upgrade your box

How can I downgrade to Enigma 20140719? Where can I find these older feed-packages? I'm new to OpenPli and it's unuseable to me: LCD4Linux and hbbtv don t work :(

Dear Kermit00,

you should install the "AutoFull Backup" PlugIn and Schedule it on a weekly or daily Basis maybe at Night at 03.00 AM for Example.

So it's very easy to set your System back into the lastest working Point with flashing via USB Update.

You can use Filezilla to download the Backup File to your PC or NPC over your Home Network.

In your actual Situation there's no Option for you to set up the last working System Point, you've to wait for till the next Update without Bugs will be released.

Thank you cd_74.

I've got my VU+ Solo2 just a couple of days ago. I think I will use another image for my box with a stable feed.

If something doesn't work, you can do two things:

- complain "it doesn't" work and switch to an older version, another image, etc.

- send a good, useful bug report and wait for the problem to solved

You're doing the first, I'd recommend the second. Bug reports containing "doesn't work" are usually not useful.

LCD4Linux will be fixed tomorrow, anyway, btw.

Why? Are developer not able to test it at their own? I'm not a coder and not able to debug on my own. It doesn't seem to be a specific / single case bug. Everybody who tries to install that .ipkg get the same issue.

Because developers don't have a crystal ball. Everytime I assume users would have the common sense to know that, but often I appear to be wrong.

- what am I doing (exactly, step-by-step)

- what do I expect to be happening (exactly)

- what does happen instead (exactly)

A bug report based on these three questions can be useful.

Fixed with Update 20140727 and LCD4Linux Plug In (4.2.r2-1+1cfe760-r0)

Ok found it. There are 2 Entries for choosing LCD Type. One Internes Vu+ Duo2 LCD 400x240 and one Vu+ Duo2 LCD 400x240. First is working, second creates Crashlog.

You have LCD4linuxSupport-Plugin installed. This overrides functions of lcd4linux. I do not know what is supposed to be good. Lcd4linux can at least nothing for it.

I think it's best if you flash your receiver with a fresh image.
