thanks for the input ,

1st there where no such line

2nd "init 4" should stop enigma and "init 3" restart it !

I did manual add that line ! then I run ssh session with those lines to test:

ntpd -q -p 192.168.1.1

ntpdate -b -s -u 192.168.1.1

ntpdate -b -s -u 0.pool.ntp.org

nothing happened with date command .... time still same !?!

** p.s I have NTP time server at router box

I also check external servers ! same results.

any idea ?

Use either ntpdate or ntpd. Ntpdate works one shot, nptd works continuously. To check ntpd, use ntpq, e.g. ntpq -c as or ntpq -c pe.

According to

Fri Nov 21 21:42:44 IST 2014

it is IST = India Standard Time

And that's "UTC Offset: UTC +5:30". So 1:30 difference can be correct...

Why don't we integrate getting time from ntp in enigma2? (When there is no time broadcasted from providers/transponders)

It seems quite simple to call ntp from python:

Wavefield T90: 0.8W - 1.9E - 4.8E - 13E - 16E - 19.2E - 23.5E - 26E - 33E - 39E - 42E - 45E on EMP Centauri DiseqC 16/1

Because there are quite a few cases where there is no internet connection, because you need to do it only once, because nobody knows the side-effects in Engima if some external process suddenly changes the clock?

If you have this requirement, install Dima's systemtime plugin, problem solved.

Also it defies the whole concept of DVB, it's a blunt workaround...

But if you are using remote http ts streams how it can get the time?

Since enigma2 is setting the time from DVB it should have an optional "failback", use ntp. Query against "failback" must be rate-limited (eg once every 1024 seconds)...

athiok,

Systemtime plugin. Since no box has an RTC, but it can keep time, fetching the time only once is enough. My prime box doesn't have a tuner connected, I do everything with streams. And no problem, no need for continuous NTP updates...

ajeeb,

If you're box is set to Indian time, and you're in GMT+2, you should start by setting the correct timezone.

I suppose this IST stands for Israel Standard Time in this case, which is UTC +2:00 indeed...
