There is one available in the image by default, which is /etc/tuxbox/satellites.xml. All others link to it.

The are provided by the package tuxbox-common, so this command might fix it:

opkg --force-reinstall tuxbox-common

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Hi. I was also using the satellite.xml file from VTI but replaced this with the one from the previous page. Is this the correct place to get the latest file?

I then performed an automatic rescan of all channels selecting to delete all previous channels. Afterwards I saw that all the channels in my bouquets were greyed out and all channels seemed to be in the All channel list twice.

One of these was selectable and the other was not. Have I done something wrong?

Sorry I am new to all of this...Can someone help.

Just delete them using DreamboxEdit - sort the ALL list by satellite position and delete all 28.4 in one go.

This is what happens when you use a wrong satellites.xml file.  (Or use one which has been produced by a moron)

As Robinson said you can delete all the 28.4 versions in one go with DreamboxEdit.

Just load the settingsfiles from your receiver in DreamboxEdit.

Hover with mouse over the left pane and click with right mouse.  There is a selection to remove a satellite.  Remove there the 28.4 position.  You probably have to guess which one it is.

Just in case you selected the wrong one.  Do not save the result.  Just reload the settinglist and deny the saving of the result (again)

And redo the removal of the satellite, now using the other alternative.

Save the result and send to your receiver.

Of course you will have to rebuild your bouquets.

However for the UK channels there is a plug-in for the receiver called:  autobouquets-e2

See if you can install it, and run it.

You probably have to tune the results to your own wishes, but that can then easily done with Dreambox edit.

and as i have said my box scans 28.2e but it does 28.4e as it shows the 28.4e on the channel info. does this mean 28.2e is not picking up and only 28.4e is?

Delete your current channel list, use the file from here http://forums.openpl...e-2#entry498826 and scan for channels again.

when i scan my box for the channels it is already on 28.2e however, on the image uploaded u can see it says 28.4e as well whilst its scanning dont know y. but when i select a specific channel on the info it says the orbit position is on 28.2e so what is the problem with the reference i give to u when requesting epg data?

No, You can receive always the 3 satellites around 28.2 E  (28.1, 28.2 and 28.4)  It is almost impossible to receive only one.

Replace your satellites.xml file as explained to you several times.

Otherwise seek advise from the maker of your image.  It cannot be OpenPLi, because there it is a proper satellites.xml file.

Or you have installed on one occasion a dodgy settingslist which replaced your satellites.xml file

i have put the file u have given me into my box deleting my old one and done a automatic scan for 28.2e.

and it is giving me 28.4e channels so what do i do know as i have done everything u have told me to do?

would it be because my dish is positioned at 28.4e and not 28.2e?

I don't know how you replaced the file, but in order to do that properly you have to stop enigma first, delete all traces of existing channel lists, replace it, then don't forget to restart the box.

It's a lot easier to download a new image from the homepage, and flash the box. It will be up and running again in 10 minutes.

login with telnet and type "init 4".

Channel lists and bouquet files contain service reference pointers (the same as used for the EPG), and a service ref contains the orbital position, which is what this very long discussion is all about. So it's pointless keeping all of them, they will all be null and void as they point to a satellite entry that is no longer there. Which is probably why you say there are still channels visible showing 28.4..

I'm beginning to wonder why you decided to go for an embedded linux receiver and then decided to start fiddling with it.

If this is your level of knowledge, I'd say don't bother, and flash your box to restore it to it's defaults. You can find the OpenPLi flash images via the manufacturer links on our homepage.
