Hi.
Is it possible to run Openpli on a Miraclebox 9 HD Twin Pvr??
Regards

We don't make an image for that box, so the official answer is no.
It could be that there is an alternative image created for this box, using our sources, but if that is the case, it is not supported by us (and may not be called OpenPLi).
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Hi,
They call it OpenMB but using this url (good for confusion):
This site is the (un)official build of OpenPLi for Miraclebox. This is pure OpenPLi build no change in the image.

They are misusing the OpenPLi brand.
I've been looking at a way to contact them, but they seem to be very good at hiding...

At least it says 'based on Open Pli' on the homepage.
Which is fine, and so is using the OpenPLi software, it's GPL licensed. They also have their own branding, and don't use the OpenPLi artwork.
The problem I have is using the "openpli.com" domain name, which is clearly intended to mislead consumers, and for which they don't have permission to use the OpenPLi brand name (which is owned by the PLi association).

Hi,
Yes but a domain name cost so few dollars... why PLi association doesn't register it to avoid such situation...

Academic question. We didn't, and he did. We also didn't register 'openpli.' + all other available top-level domains. And it may be only a few dollars, for a not-for-profit organisation, every penny counts, we run quite an expensive operation as it is.
It might be that 'cocacola.me' is also still available, but that doesn't mean I have the right to register it...

Hi,
I agree with you but .com is one of the major top domain to own.
But the team should already know this since I warm by PM Pieterg about this domain the 21st May 2014...

I checked, openpli.com was registered on 2010-11-11. openpli.org was registered on 2010-03-22, so you would have been too late anyway...
It wasn't registered by us btw, but the domain was transferred to us.

OK, right.
Pity, though, not all OpenPLi-supported boxes are in the comparison charts:
http://wiki.openpli.org/comparison
Miraclebox is at least one brand that is still missing.

The manufacturer needs to support us, as they supply the BSP (the hardware abstraction layer). And they have chosen only to do so for these two boxes.
