the guy said you cant record iptv
i just show that you can play and record iptv
with 1:0:1:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:
and forward slash at the end of the url
rtmp 4097 plays ok
but to record you have to have forward slash at the end of the url
rtmp 4097 dont work with forward slash
so you get the error
you have to fool the box in to thinking it is getting a http stream
then rtmp 4097 will record
i post how later

And another guy didn't quite read what the one guy say.

its got nothing to do with new drivers
Yes it does, if you have a VU+ receiver.
Also the vast majority of iptv streams are not 1:0:1 but 4097:0:1 so your statement is not that relevant in the end.

your wrong
iptv streams are the url
what you put in front of that can be written many ways
but to record you have to have 1 flag at the start and / at the end
rtmp 4097 dont record
unless you fool the box to thinking the stream is a http with 1 flag and /
i have solo2
with old drivers
and i use to have dm800 with a old italy image
and record iptv like 5 years ago
till i sold it last year
so nowt to do with new drivers

No point in argueing when the other side doesn't read or doesn't want to understand.

first you say you cant record iptv to stb
then SatKiekerd says you can
then you say it must be the new drivers
when all along you have been able to record iptv to dreambox and vu+ boxes
since that both came out
flash a old openpli image say over a year ago then try to record iptv to hdd
you say i dont read lol
well i read what rubbish you put
and your still wrong
so to prove my point flash old image with old drivers
or use a dreambox with a real old image on it say openpli 2.1
as for recording other extensions .mp4 .mkv to dreambox or vu+ hdd
there are a few ways of doing it and one is wget
i bet you say you cant do that as well

well to record anything it has to be there in the 1st place
whether iptv via record button or telnet
so the user has to input something to get something out
here is how you use wget to download to your enigma2 hdd
easy way is
get dreambox control centre
login to your box with it
click telnet
type
wget -P "/hdd/movie" http://ip-of-stream.mkv
press enter
find stream on hdd and play it
here is a test link
1 min mkv
wget -P "/hdd/movie" http://jell.yfish.us/media/Jellyfish-3-Mbps.mkv

record RTMP stream on vu+ or dreambox hdd
you have to fool the box to record RTMP
by daisy chaining the RTMP link from vlc on pc to a http link on enigma2
ftp to
/etc/enigma2/userbouquet.favourites.tv
put this
change ip to your pc ip address
#SERVICE 1:0:1:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//192.168.1.4%3a8902/ #DESCRIPTION MY STREAM
save
exit
restart enigma2
start vlc on pc
then go to
Tools -> Preferences -> All -> Interfaces -> Main Interfaces -> Select Web -> save
now go to
Tools -> Preferences -> All -> Stream output
in the box
Default Stream Output Chain
put
#duplicate{dst=std{access=http,mux=ts,dst=:8902},dst=display}
save
use this RTMP stream and open it with vlc
rtmp://stream.smcloud.net/live2/best/best_720p
now go to your channel list bouquet favourites.tv on your sat box
and select MY STREAM thats the name i gave #DESCRIPTION MY STREAM
the RTMP stream will now play
now press the record button on the remote
and it will record RTMP stream as a ts file
to your sat box hdd
the reason this works is the box thinks its using a http stream from here
#SERVICE 1:0:1:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//192.168.1.4%3a8902/
which has the flag 1 at the start and the forward slash at the end

You're using VLC to restream.
In that case it's a lot easier to skip the fiddling with the box alltogether and to have VLC write the stream to disk: https://msankhala.wo...ith-vlc-player/
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

yes you can record to vu+ hdd with just vlc like you said
heres how to do it for a rtmp stream
a little bit different to your link but same result
Open Vlc player and Go to Media >> Open Network Stream
Paste the RTMP url
click the arrow next to play and click convert
click dump raw input
then go to browse and navigate to your network places till you find
solo2 hdd then movie
then give it a name
rtmp.mp4
save
then click start
rtmp stream will be on solo2 hdd

Exactly. No need to do anything more than have VLC write it to disk.
