When matching drivers for that specific kernel are released by the developers, than they will be implemented via the regular updates.

What box are we talking about anyway?

The first two have an easy job... The other two are using a "big" patch so the drivers that are build on an ancient build environment are working. I suggest it is still recommandable VU start to make drivers on a more modern building environment...

But who knows... Maybe we are forced now to use the same patch vix and atv are using... Due to oe-a accepted this, VU it is not required anymore to create drivers with a more recent building environment.... :(.

Upto the next work-a-round patch for VU!?

This is also something strange... I suggest vu needs to release new drivers again soon...https://github.com/o...932159fa72780af

1- VU is in the proces of updating their OE (at least they say so)
2- Did you check if that O-ATV is indeed required? They also make mistakes :)

ad 2: By the look of it, it's to stop a BSoD if reading "aspect" fails. I checked "aspect" on and it has 644 permission so should read ok. So it looks like a not needed patch to me.
Anyway: I'm using images with the new kernels for all my VU's since they are available and never had an issue. The Solo2 has even become a very fast box (very responsive, much better then it was before).

Back on topic, what is it exactly TS hopes to achieve with a newer kernel version?

I have a feeling that Duo2 becomes a bit unresponsive to the remote control after a day of operation. Anyone else noticed this?

Do you have any news about this?

PLi switched to the 'new' kernel quite some time ago.
