Waar vind ik smartmontools?

Ik vrees dat mij HD het aan het begeven is in mijn Vu+ Ultimo. Nu lees ik op dit forum her en der dat ik smartmontools moet installeren en dat die al in 2011 aan de feed zijn toegevoegd. Ik kan ze alleen nergens vinden, niet bij de plugins, niet bij softwarebeheer. Hoe krijg ik smt op mijn decoder zodat ik smartctl kan uitvoeren?l

Dat hoopte ik al, maar ga toch maar even een backup maken van alle waardevolle opnames naar de NAS. Er is dus een andere reden dat mijn Ultimo met OpenPLI 4 en amper plugins retetraag is geworden, afsluiten duurt soms meer dan 5 minuten.... Gevalletje reinstall waarschijnlijk.

Een backup maken met de BackupSuite, dan een frisse flash, liefst zonder reinstall van de autobackup en kijken of het wat uitmaakt.. Met de BackupSuite kun altijd terug naar de situatie van vandaag (is het nog de vraag waar de traagheid vandaan komt).

Dit is precies hoe de output van smartctl er uit zou moeten zien na een selftest, voor referentie dus ;)

ZIe ook de discussie hieronder, ik kan me voorstellen dat als "de horde", om het met een telnet regel te downloaden en installeren, niet te nemen is, je er IMHO überhaupt niet aan moet beginnen ;).

Overigens is er wel een GUI (grafische) oplossing in PLi namelijk Menu-> Instellingen-Systeem-Hardisk-Bestandssysteemcontrole

Ik vind het net zoiets als "mijn wlan (of "wiefie" noemen ze dat dan) hoeft niet beveiligd te zijn want ik begrijp niet hoe dat werkt". En dat ontslaat je dan meteen van alle verantwoordelijkheid, NOT.

Klopt, maar ik denk dat het gros het (helaas) zo ziet.
