I have an ET9000 and I recently observed the following.

I press & hold POWER button on my remote in order to go to deep standby. Then after some time I turn the box back on and all EPG has disappeared.

Please note I do not have an internal HDD, only an external USB HDD now so /media/hdd/ path does not exist on my box.

How can I prevent this and keep my EPG after deep standby?

The EPG data is held in "live" memory so when you power down or go to deepstandby, you are essentially flushing that data. you would need to reload the EPG from it's save point (CrossEPG used to have that option but I dont believe it does any more) or just run it again.

I thought EPG was lost only when switched off immediately or in case of power cut.

I was pretty sure it should be saved when going to deep standby and then read on wake-up.

By the way, I'm using XMLTV Import.

there is an option to set/use your externel hdd as replacement for the internel hdd, maybe if you use that option epg will be saved?

Deepstandby is akin to powering the receiver down, so every thing in live memory is flushed, that includes the EPG which will need to be reloaded when the receiver powers back up, I dont use XMLTV for my EPG so I can't comment on that.

Yes thats what it is supposed to do, so it's likely that either part of that routine is not taking place (probably reloading the EPG from the storage device upon bootup).

Can this be debugged then?

Maybe it works for those who have /media/hdd path but not for those with /media/usb/ only?

you can add the line below to the settings file in /etc/enigma2.


config.misc.epgcachepath=/media/usb/
config.misc.epgcache_filename=/media/usb/epg.dat

Hi,

 

You can force the path for the epg.dat, edit the file:  /etc/enigma2/settings

 

and add entry:

config.misc.epgcache_filename=/media/usb/epg.dat
