Will PLI team make img for this box i dont think db 8000 will come so i woundering bying a box like kathrein

no, as we dont own them and we have our hands full at supporting the dreamboxes

just checked the specs of the box, as far as i can see it isnt even open source linux that runs the box... so how should we make images for them?

LINUX based operational system. PPL who have bought seems to be very satisfied. Concidering only 50% of the price you'll be asked for DM8000 it's a real bargain. If someone makes decent soft for it and many ppl say bye bye DB8000!

maybe you can run a multiboot solution on it like other Linux based receivers

Great HDTV dvb-s2 receiver, i bought 1 cos i got tired of waiting for DMM8000; will it ever surface.

I just looked at the specs and I see no ethernet just USB... is that right?

If so its a shame... though I suppose a USB/ethernet dongle is possible... but complicated!

Also I found reviews saying 3secs switching time on HD and 2+secs on SD... thats slooooooooow. What's the processor and what's it clocking at???

This is an email petition for Kathrein.de to release to source codes for Kathrein 910 HDTV satellite receiver

I, among other buyers, have purchased my hard earned money on a very promising HDTV satellite tv receiver that is the Kathrein 910.

Sadly, despite the great hardware, the 910 is found to be lacking in the software department.

The Kathrein user community has warmly welcomed the kernel released to the public, but to unleash the full potential of the Kathrein 910, we need the sources to be released to the public too.

If the source for the OSD can not be released, then at least we would like to see the plugin API to be freely available.

It is my understanding that the Kathrein 910 has been selling quite well, now let us hobbyists help you, Kathrein.de, to make this receiver an even bigger success than it is at the moment.

no news as we don't own or support other boxes then the dreambox as stated before many times!

if PLi will be running on other boxes depends on the other communities...

And even more important: we don't have a Kathrein receiver. That makes it impossible to write software for it.

I started to port Enigma1-HD for ufs910 to PLi. Google will guide you to the download.
It works now in a first Beta.

enigma1-hd ? What this has to do with OpenPLI? OpenPLI uses enigma1 for old SD boxes and enigma2 for HD boxes. As far as I know enigma1-hd was an attempt to add hd tuning to old enigma1 code, but with many limitations (no 2nd tuner support etc).
