I'm not a plugin builder, just a guy with ideas. Sometimes they're good ones, and sometimes bad ones. I noticed that most big channels have subtitles for most films en series, addes for people with hearing problems.

Google Translate is a service that can translate roughly any language to your own. Wouldn't it be a great service within an Enigma image if you could change the subtitled language by using Google Translate?

I have no idea if this is technically possible, but I guess it could be a big addition to an image.

toolkit for the hero?

I don't think it will be fast enough to do realtime translation, subtitles are only displayed for a very short time, even if Google would be fast enough, the delay would be noticable I think...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

If that's so, maybe for recorded programs?

Google translate can do translations of srt file, only if you're logged in though. I've tried it several times, it's understandable but's it doesn't read easy, because it's not compact. And yes, you can forget real-time operation.

Also DVB subs are graphical, they can't be translated at all, only teletext subs or external.

I don't read PM -> if you have something to ask or to report, do it in the forum so others can benefit. I don't take freelance jobs.
Ik lees geen PM -> als je iets te vragen of te melden hebt, doe het op het forum, zodat anderen er ook wat aan hebben.
