Never heard from zgmma, so you may assume they're talking rubbish.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Same chinese manufacturer that makes the Cloud Ibox. For which no OpenPLi exists either.

So the manufacturer is lying, it is simply trying to shift more of his crap hardware by mis-using our brand name.

Since they are chinese, there is nothing we can do about it. I feel very sorry for people buying such a box based on lies.

I believe that you have been sent a zgemma-star sample and you will see that it is not a clone. Please talk to the OE Alliance as they have now been sent samples.

We haven't seen a sample (but I've seen some very ugly pictures ;)), but we're in contact. We'll see what happens next, we have intake procedures which need to be followed.

On the home page of zgemma there is no mention about OpenPli.

Also there is no price and no firmawre to download (coming soon...).

So, from my point of view this is vaporware.

As long as our homepage doesn't say there is an image, the rest is academic.

Found OpenPLi Images for Zgemma Receiver H1 and S2 and they are working. So what are the sources if not originally supported?

Hi,

guess what Open in OpenPLi means? Correct it means the source is open and everybody can use it. It does not mean that it is official supported by OpenPLi.

ciao

There is no OpenPli image for a Zgemma receiver.

There is an image made by someone else, based on our sources, and mis-using our brand name.

Since our sources don't contain any support for this receiver, the person creating these images must make modifications to our source to make it work. This means we don't know what has happened to our source, we don't know how good the drivers are, how good the DVB API implementation is, etc. Which makes it impossible to provide any support on, since we can not rule out an issue is caused by underlying hardware, drivers, or modifications made to our code by this person.

So although our source is GPL and anyone can use it, our brandname is not. So others may create an image using our sources, they may NOT call it "OpenPLi". As you see, this leads to people thinking we produce it, causing them to come here for support.

Same is true for the hardware BTW. It is produced by the same chinese clone-builder company that makes the Cloud-Ibox.

We are in contact with the manufacturer, to try to have them talk with their French distributeur.

If not, legal action might follow, they are violating a trademark and mis-using a brand name for a counterfeit product, and there are laws against that.
