Hi,

Is there a solution  to select several files in one time in MoviePlayer to copy or to move them?

Thank you :) .

on the other hand, you can select them one after the other. ;)

you don´t need to wait until the first file is copied/moved.

by pressing the blue button, you can see the progress.

Yes I know but when I have many files, it's not convenient to repeat the same operations and it's not convenient to open the PC if there are only a few files.

It would be also convenient to have the progress with the blue key in Movie Player because we have only the plugins.

i agree with you sjlouis. ;)

i also move move/copy many files to my external hdd, so it would be great to have the ability

to select several files at ones.

Hi,

with another movieplayer plugin with name enhancedmoviecenter you can move or copy movies complete with meta files as .sc and so on

apartly or you can all movies in one directory mark and then they move or copy in one go.

but i know also a plugin which can make that automatically and/or manually it's named moviearchiver and this plugin is only in openatv image to find.

the maintainer of this plugin is @svox i asked him today if i can post it here - if he allow it then i will post it here in the next days.

i use this plugin moviearchiver for some time in pli image and it works very good i think.

if @svox allow allow me to post it here maybe @littlesat can put it then also on pli feed.

regards

I prefer when to make this to find a good way to add something like this in the standard MovieSelection in a smart way... but as everything it takes some time.. I suggest it is better spending time in adapting some goodies instead of creating yet another (possibly closed source) plugin.

And indeed what could be the best mechanism to select multiple files to be able to copy/remove/move them??

In addition it needs a lot of adaptions to the movielist... every function of delete, move, copy is based on the current selected item.

And at least for delete... this is already very quick.... ;)

The most interesting choice to make here is what key to use for selecting items?

(the obvious choice would be "ok", but that's not really an option. Maybe the "0" key?)

The rest is simply a matter of adding a "selected" box to the items and giving an iterator to the callbacks.

Maybe the movie list should have "modes" for several things, like "file management", "movie selection", "audio playback" etc.

i'am fully agree

yes that's dangerous :)

maybe as in emc with a context menu ?

in emc you go in a directory with movies and then you press button menu then it comes a context menu and here you can scroll to a entry that is named mark all

then all movies in this directory are marked (all movies then are shows on left side an arrow so that we can see they are marked) and now you can copy or move them

with yellow short or yellow long button but previously it comes a query where (in which directory) you want to copy or move the marked movies (here we must select the right directory)

and then copy or move starts.

well, never used EMC, but from your description it sounds that's not that much of added value then...

you can do the same in openpli by moving/copying/ whole directory

on the other hand, to be able to mark only certain items in the folder to move/copy/delete at once, it would be really an improvement (fingers crossed ;))

Why not through the menu button and select "multi select" like you can select "verplaatsmode selecteren" (dutch) in bouquetlist menu?

Since today the context menu should have quickbuttons,.. As in the channelselection contexf menu... Thanks to ims21.
For a multiiselect first we need a good idea...
The 0 button is already occupied... So go via the contact menu for a multiselect mode could be an idea.

0 is in submenu free, I did not add it in final for Add/Remove bookmark ( because ... how often is bookmark created/removed ?)

I think, it could be similar as "movemode" in channelselection => turn on/off multiselecting mode from submenu (without short key, for sicher).

May be, open some as is in mediaplayer - in one box are movies, and into second box are added selected files for "multioperation" (and can be removed from it too). This window will have own button for Copy, Move, Delete.

But I do not see added value. PC is better for it and all users, who have box with E2 have PC too.

IMS, as I explained it, if I have a "complex" Move or Copy, I use the PC but when I want to do it for a few files, I do it from the box. My box and my TV are in my bedroom. The hard disk is noisy, thus I use an USB key in the night to record the movies and I transfer them on the disk later. I can also do moves between 2 hard disk for movies I keep for later because I try to save space on the current disk  .

Biki, as I have several directories on the hard disk, I don't want to move all the movies of a same directory in one time : some ones go to "Series", others to "Films"...

What is EMC?

When we want to move a channel in the Favorite, we go in the menu and activate the move and then when we press Ok, the channel is in video inverse. It's a solution but it's not very convenient. Then if we can select movies with a key to put them in inverse video, perhaps we can apply the standard "move", "copy", "delete"... to this selection :) .

What is the use of 0? I didn't know it is busy, I thought 0 will be perfect.

Thank you :) .

It's a plugin, mainly used for adding functionality to the rather bare original DM movie list.
Most of this functionality is embedded in PLi.
