Dear Team,

 

         plase check OpenPli Update Version available now on Feed in Receiver Menu from 20141123 (Update to Kernel 3.3.8-2.0)

 

During the Update to new Version Vu+ Duo2 shuts immediately down to Deep Stand By. Update does not work.

 

No chrash log is recorded.

 

Same Issue is with posted Version OpenPli Beta 4.0 from 20141120-USB to new Version on Feed 20141123 (Update to Kernel 3.3.8-2.0).

 

Or is there an differnt Update Procedure for Kernel 3.3.8-2.0 necessary ?

This seems to work, thank you for the tip ...

root@vuduo2:~# opkg list-installed | grep shutdown
vuplus-shutdown - 1.0-r1
root@vuduo2:~# opkg remove vuplus-shutdown

 Removing any system startup links for vuplus-shutdown ...

But the package is now removed and upgrade works fine after that.

That doesn't work on the solo2. The solo2 turns into deep sleep without removing the package.

Every attempt is resulting in a deep sleep

try removing the k-files in rc? for vuplus-shutdown.

 

btw. do not forget to install shutdown again after upgrade worked.

it is not working on Solo2 box goes down when you give remove command.

wel i find it out i have to remove file vuplus-shutdown in folder etc\init.d and file S89vuplus-shutdown in folder etc\rc0.d then it worked :-)

this on VU+ DUO

It is still shuting down, also it is not updating it through USB , which is also strange

In the end, if nothing works for you, a flash is the simple answer and the quick solution.

There is no update from 20141123 (Update to Kernel 3.3.8-2.0) to flash on download.

Then IMHO it's best to wait until that's the case.

Same problem on vu ultimo.
I tried to uninstall vuplus-shutdown (opkg remove vuplus-shutdown) but the box shutdown when doing so and the package is still installed.
I will try to remove files mentionned above and see if it works.

I was able to update my ultimo :
- I moved the file etc/init.d/vuplus-shutdown in a backup directory
- I updated the box (init 4, opkg update, opkg upgrade)
- I reinstalled vuplus-shutdown (opkg install vuplus-shutdown)
- reboot the box (reboot)
- moved back vuplus-shutdown file in etc/init.d (check first if necessary, on one other ultimo, the file was already there after upgrade/install)

And that is exactly the way to do it, as has also been mentioned in other threads, as simply de-installing the vuplus-shutdown doesn't work (OPKG does that as well, and fails for the same reason).

Otherwise wait till a new build is ready to flash your box.
