On the assumption that there are a lot of "geeks" active on this forum that can help us out... ;)

We're planning a re-organisation of our IT infrastructure, due to the increase in both users and hardware to support (bandwidth, build capacitity, etc), and we're looking for affordable (does not mean "cheap") and reliable suppliers of Linux VPS and dedicated servers, mainly in Europe.

We're looking for:

Dedicated servers: quad core CPU, min 16Gb memory, ESXi compatible, 1Gbps NIC, min. 4TB/m bandwidth, min 2 x 1TB SATA disk. I would say not above 50 euro/month

VPS: 2 vCPU, 2Gb memory, 1Gbps NIC, preferably no bandwidth limits.

Reliablity and guaranteed performance are very important, so we're not interested in local resellers of resellers.

Sofar, for dedicated servers we've been looking at the http://www.online.net DediBox LT-v2 and the http://www.soyoustart.com E3-SAT-3.

Anyone has any experience to share that can help us to keep the shop running?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Hetzner is place you should look for dedicated servers: http://www.hetzner.d...trix/rootserver

And for small VPS maybe go for Amazon EC2 ( t2.small or t2.medium ).

I guess what you need is powerfull machines able to "build images" and (almost) dummy machines to share feeds and images.

Kimsufi is part of OVH, like SoYouStart, but with a focus at the absolute low-end, with zero support. We can't afford days of downtime because we're waiting for a disk change.

Hetzner has been looked at, but can't deliver because they use consumer hardware (like the Core i7 and on-board Realtek NIC's) that don't support ESXi. The first machine with the correct specs is the PX60 which is 50% more expensive.Ho

Hosters with a pay-per-use scheme (like Amazon) are never cheaper. The servers will be always on, and are focussed on incoming/outgoing data in bulk, which you need to pay for by volume.
