I have flashed my solo2 with Image from 30.12. (yesterday)

Is it necessary to flash with todays Image again or can I update normally?

I have flashed my duo2 with Image from 20.12. and everything went fine. Before update I send command "chmod 000 /usr/bin/turnoff_power"

You can update normally provided you apply the trick in e.g. #182. Or you can flash.

Hello and a happy new year.

The last two months i face a specific problem. Everytime i try to update from menu openpli 4 on solo2 the receiver doesn't reboot but shutdown. When i open again the receiver exists the old version so the update doesn't take place. How can i reflash my receiver with the latest openpli4 but doesn't loose my settings?

Thank you.

Hi, Went update on VU + Duo. Launch telnet: chmod 000 / usr / bin / turnoff_power
Restart tuner.
Launch telnet: chmod -x / usr / bin / turnoff_power
init 4 && && opkg update opkg upgrade -force-overwrite && reboot
It takes quite a long time about 10 minutes.
Everything works properly.

This trick is only necessary if you update.

Is this trick going to be necessary every time we update online?

Does something need to be repaired before the trick is no longer necessary?

I have updated my vuduo 3 times online since this problem without problems.

I have not needed to do anything other than the normal online update procedure.

It is only needed, as a workaround, if you run an online update and the VU+ power module has been updated. Which is normally only at a kernel update or a kernel options change.

We're in contact with VU+ to fix the problem (which is that the box shuts itself down when the power module package is updated or removed).

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

After doing a flash a few days ago and then successfully doing daily online updates, I did an online update this morning and now my vuduo is stuck at 'Starting' but does display the start-up channel.

Nothing else works.

I have powered down and back on a couple of times but same result.

I will leave it powered down for a while before trying again and if still not working I will flash the image again from a few days ago.

Happy new year to you too.

And we know that (see the several threads about it), we know what the problem is, but we haven't found the cause, and why this is a problem for VU+ and not for the other brands, yet.

No need to keep on repeating it.

Just powered back up after leaving it off since my last post and now all seems to be well. :D

I can't confirm that for VU+ in general. There was no CIFS-problem for my "Duo2" at any time. But there is the CIFS-problem actually for a friend of me with his "Duo".

This shouldn't be a repeating. I hadn't read this elsewhere in the forum. Otherwise, sorry. ;-)
