That's not the solution to my problem. Have installed ext4 and cifs. Connection still not visible.

You are the only one that reports this problem. This is a problem that was actual with images last week, but if you flashed an image from saturday or newer, there is no such issue.

Quickest way to solve this is to flash.

No, it updates the box to the latest image.

How old is your image at this moment?

If older than a few day's ,you better flash,as you can read in this topic.

With autobackup ,a peace of cake :)

My duo2 would turn off for no apparent reason. This problem seemed to appear almost immediately after an update. My solution was to go into HDMI CEC setup, and set Enabled to No. You may try this and see if it solves your problem.

(..)

Sorry but I could not disagree more :)

Imagine how surprised I was to see the wizard after the booting finished. The autobackup and autoinstall files were on my USB so I could not understand why nothing has been restored.

The lack of ext4 drivers I was able to fix with the above mentioned set of commands, but in order to restore settings and autoinstall packages that have been used prior to image flash, following has to be executed:

/etc/init.d/settings-restore.sh
/etc/init.d/autoinstall.sh

settings need to be restored while init 4 state is activated.

So a piece of cake for people using ext4 for their media, the set of commands would look like this:

init 4
opkg update
opkg install kernel-module-cifs
opgk install kernel-module-ext4
(mkdir -p /etc/cron/crontabs) important if you want to restore cronjobs
/etc/init.d/settings-restore.sh
/etc/init.d/autoinstall.sh
init 6

Always better than running one by one :)

You can also run the backup from within the plugin itself.

Why? your backup wasn't running while booting for the first time ,i don't know.

confused me! you say no then say it updates the box to the latest image?

not sure if that means is does or doesn't flash the box.

what I have at the moment is openpli 4,enigma 21.12.14 and my last upgrade was 22.12.14.

so should I proceed with update directly through box?

Seems it depends when was the last time you flashed (not updated!) your box.

Really? 3 sentences that show you misunderstood everything I wrote   :)

For sure it is better to restore from autobackup - that is the point of my post.

Why would I want to run backup from plugin itself when I want to restore ????

Why the autobackup has not been restored ? Because my HDD/USB are ext4 formatted. The scripts are triggered on first boot only. If the media cannot be mounted than there is nothing to restore.

Anyway, the point of my post is to help someone who would like to reflash his/her box while keeping settings/plugins and his media is ext4 formatted.

I mean restore ,ofcourse.

oh ,and my usb is also ext4 and have never had problems with it.

It "restores"on the fly.
