Hi!

Is there any hope to get the dflash plugin working again? It seems to me that it is broken from the time, when I get first time with my dreambox the error message 2nd failed. That means for me the date of 22 November. Without gutemine we can not get it working, I guess? There is no need to refer to ohter backup options, this plugin is very necessary!

Second stage depend is easy to fix, the control file needs adjustment.

But dflash is not timembombed?

Why spend time with closed source plugins?

Thank you athoik, can You refer a link or give a hint, how to adjust the control file for secondstage dependence?

My observation is that, in fact, may be a timebomb inside also, but I would like to try it out.

As far as I know, there is no ohter plugin (than dflash) to be able to make a full backup for dreambox.

Download ipk into /tmp.

Extract it using command "ar x xxx.ipk"
Extract data.tar.gz using command "tar xf data.tar.gz -C /"

Above will install without ckecking control (and pre/post pkg commands)

Okay, I thank you, but there is probably something more wrong yet. I had it installed before but it really did not do a full backup, the backup file size is zero.
I uninstalled that version, which I got from PLi server (dflash V 12.0.16) and tried a newer version (V 13.6). No great success :-( I got more error messages:
root@dm7020hd:~# opkg install /tmp/enigma2-plugin-extensions-dflash_13.6_mips32el.ipk

some builds use a timebomb which results in 0byte backup files.

I'm using dflash 12.6 and also had to install nfidump_0.17_all.ipk

both can be downloaded here (link 2 and 3 in first post.)

remove any old dflash (opkg remove --autoremove *dflash*)

and install both ipk with --force-depends (opkg install --force-depends nfidump* opkg install --force-depends enigma2-plugin-extensions-dflash_12.6_all.ipk)

This is how I got dflash working on my dm800se @ latest Open PLI.

Here you can find all you need:

http://board.dreambo...usive-binaries)

To be able to make a backup install all attached packages except nfidump and nfiwrite.

For restore use the web interface: http://www.dream-mul...irmware-browser

Just make sure to install mtd-utils-nanddump with option --force-overwrite, because OpenPLi's mtd-utils already contains a (non dflash compliant) version of nanddump.

There is no timebomb anymore in 13.x versions.

Hilarious - all that effort to install a plugin from an author known to add extra "features" to his code, just to be able to create a "backup".

It's like building a wall around you for protection by stacking gunpowder kegs...

Wouldn't it be much simpler to just keep a copy of your previous firmware around, along with the plugins you really want, and a backup of your settings. creating and restoring that would take less time than what you've spent on this already.

Because of that and DM's closed source policy I've sold all my Dreamboxes and bought ET10000.

Nevertheless, I find it useful to be able to create a full backup image and dflash is the only way I know of.

No, you can use that script https://github.com/s...x-fullbackup.sh

We are using it at SatDreamGR image without problems.

You need build-image on feeds and one patch for mtd-utils.

Patches made available to OpenPLi, but not commited/accepted yet.

If you have an ET10000 you could take a look at the BackupSuite

I confirm that DFlash 12.6 runs and I tested today, including the restoration from the backup. I detected the current state and then it restored as needed. In the meantime, I had already updated the software to be tested in terms of recovery, however, if implemented, the status of the previous day ago (as I hoped). Then I got back from the PLi server to upgrade to the newer version again. Backup, took a bit of time over 15 minutes.

We should swap the non-working dflash 12.0.16 (it contains timebomb) on PLi server with working one. Should I ask whether gutemine allows to put to PLi server his work and  which version it should be. I personally confirm again that this version, which we talked about above, here, works 100%. Unfortunately, this is not the latest version, and others I have not tried myself.

Hi!
I unstilled my installed dFlash version V12.6 and
Today I installed to my box the
dflash 13.x original (exklusive binaries)
it was previously mentioned herein.
I confirm that that thing works ...
(With my DM7020 HD and latest PLi)
:-)

Gutemine, he told me that he don't support any PLi Images anymore as they don't support any dreamboxes any more.
He told me also, that dFlash 13.x is Freeware and all needed sources and patches are published - so we don't need any further permission, but we need to self-help each other.

Welcome to this topic further, if there are people interested in? I also welcome gutemine to participate here (whether observer or advice giver but I did not ask him any favor).

So my observations. I have a way how dFlash works, but it just can not go, as I thought at the beginning. Whether there is still interest in it, I talk more, but I know that many left from dreams.
Whether anybody is interested?

Bullshit.

At first DMM can create a BSP layer and upload it somewhere (eg github or git.opendreambox.com).

It requires some effort from DMM too you know...

DMM doesn't care about existing open source forks! And is not doing something to change this.
