Hello community!

After the last update before 2-3 days, something happened with the media player. Every video from media player freezes every 3-5 seconds for a while, then starts again and then the same, etc.

I have a vu solo2. Any idea why this happened? Someone with the same problem?

Thank you,

Harris

Is the problem with TS, MKV or all file types ?

I tried only with mp4 files. But I tried the same video I watched some days before with no problem, and now even this doesn't play correctly!

Hi,

Before the update, it was very difficult to jump back 7 seconds for avi files. Now it's good but if I can jump forward 5 minutes and 1 minute, I can't jump forward 7 seconds. It's not dramatic, just a little annoying.

Thank you :) .

I have the same problem with the media player on openpli 4.0 vu + SOLO2 stops playing after about 5 min
the same happens with openvix and HDMU images ?

files not working
mkv with separate files
mp4 Ac3 - SRT

if I hardcoder
ac3 and SRT > mp4 files all works fine

the problem was not in November build ? worked all fine

There is a known bug in gstreamer (the part which playback the MP4 files) when you use subtitle files which causes a memory leak. Last time I checked it there was no patch available. The bug is already quite old (several years).

Yet another argument to embed the subtitles in the file :)

Is there any fix for this.. media player has becoming useless, the reason I jumped to Openpli was its great subtitle support, but these updates are ruining its smoothness, its becoming some kind of ugly Black Hole,

at least can smb tell what version should I downgrade? maybe end of 2014?

I just use the media player embedded in open pli, and generally it works ok, lately it seems that mp4 files are working randomly with no audio, while mkv still work but sometimes freeze,

I cannot be sure that it has to do with the update I did 3 days ago,

can you tell me where to download an old Openpli, maybe 3.0, so I can check it out

thanks,

These kinds of problems have nothing to do with the movieplayer, but 99% with the drivers which are supplied by the manufacturer.

OK, I just downgrade to a november Openpli and everything is OK,

I also tried a 3.0 version, but unfortunately I couldn't update any plugin.

That's normal, version isn't supported anymore.

If you want this fixed, send a bug report to the manufacturer.

What do you mean by manufacturer drivers? the only update I do, is openpli by usb or feed..
