Hi. I have a dm800 genuine sim2.1 running pli2.1, can I update the image with a newer one? I would like to try the pli 4 image if it is possible, if it is can you still install plugins?
Thanks

Funny ... Since when there are genuine clones?
Anyway if you move to your sim2.1 board you will find what you are looking for.

Sorry I thought I had a genuine box, I checked screws ect. The reason I asked if I could use a clone image is that I thought the pli 2.1 was the last supported image for the dm800. As you will have guessed I don't know the full ins and outs about boxes, I just know there is a 2.10 sim in as I can see it. I flashed it originally with dcc, I can't find the image I installed.
Thanks

You can tell by the price it's not the real thing! Users telling me they didn't know are simply lying. Everybody wanted a Dreambox but few were willing to pay the price.. Luckily the Dreambox imago has depleted so this (I wanna wanna wanna factor) is now gone... Real box 429,- Euros, clone 150,- Euro + year 'subscription' to CCCam server. Don't tell you didn't know..

I can't really tell that the DM800HD-PVR is a bad design. I have owned it for years and the only bad thing was the front bezel. Apart from a power supply dying after 3 years a very intense use, no problems. Okay, it was slow (but must receivers were in that time). It's really not fair to call it a bad design in 2015 as newer and faster receivers are now common-place.
If I look at the state of the current VU+ receivers (which are now 'new') there are far more problems that with the DM800HD-PVR when it came out..
Just my 2 cents.....
And off course.. You *are* right that NOW it would be ridiculous to buy a DM800...
