By default, there is NO password. And because of that, you should not be prompted for a password. If you get a password prompt, a password is set. And that could be an empty one, but that is different from no password.
If you have autobackup running, the old password gets restored when you flash the box. Maybe that has happened?

Can you access the command-line?
If so then try the following commands:
init 1
passwd
Now set the new password and try to NOT leave it empty.
afterwards if succesfull do an: init 3

If you have flashed your box, if you have used an image downloaded from our site, if you haven't had a backup restored, and if you haven't set a password before, then the box has NO password. And you should not be prompted for one.

The password of an OpenPLI image is by default never "dreambox".
