I'm trying to fix my favorite list using the Dreambox edit.
It does not seem to work without a password to my SOLO2 box.
So I googled and read that one would use telnet to enter a new password.
But when I use telnet, I leave the "Password" field blank and then it says I have the wrong password.
Does it mean that there is already a password in the box?

Password should be "empty" from start on openpli or?

By default, there is NO password. And because of that, you should not be prompted for a password. If you get a password prompt, a password is set. And that could be an empty one, but that is different from no password.

If you have autobackup running, the old password gets restored when you flash the box. Maybe that has happened?

No backup used :-(
Box is new so there shouldn't be any "old" password.

Can you access the command-line?

If so then try the following commands:

init 1

passwd

Now set the new password and try to NOT leave it empty.

afterwards if succesfull do an: init 3

If you have flashed your box, if you have used an image downloaded from our site, if you haven't had a backup restored, and if you haven't set a password before, then the box has NO password. And you should not be prompted for one.

The password of an OpenPLI image is by default never "dreambox".
