Hi

I downloaded two new images for solo2, one beginning of january 2015 and one 31 January 2015

They both have same problem with playing any kind of movies stored in internal hard drive. Even though I have set in option that each time recordings start playing from beginning when I press play movies each movie starts from position where is 2 minutes left till the end of the movie.
When I skip backward to start ( long press of backward arrow and type in how many minutes to go back ) it freezes a screen for few seconds and sometimes even gives GS. Every now and then Also receiving GS when I try to play movie, enigma2 will restart and then u can play again but from 2 minutes till the end position.

I decided to flash image from December 2013 and everything came back to normal so there is definitely some problems with media player in brand new openpli images for solo2.

Hi,

when there is a GS there should be a crashlog on hdd or in /home/root. Post it here it will help to help you.

That's superb because I started to think there is problem with my box. But as I said before I flash back image from December 2013 and everything works as should do.

I will have look for GS logs if still have them.

Same problem with Duo2 (CIFS). MKV starts usually in the end and it is almost impossible to rewind to the beginning. What is happening?

I have also crashlog for mkv files and there is the same error

I always SOLO2.No problem with the recordings. The problems of jumping on mp4 and dvd.

Segmentation fault. Now the next time you have such a GSOD, also run a dmesg, and you will probably see a kernel OOPS -> driver bug.

Now it doesnt happen because I use older openpli image, in newer images I had GS few times a day

We do not and cannot fix driver bugs.

OK one more thing , why everything is working well on older images ??

Older image = older driver versions. VU+ tend to create just as much bugs as they fix.

Older image = older driver versions. VU+ tend to create just as much bugs as they fix.

to be fair: sometimes they also fix more than they create:-) I am also not so happy with the driver for the new kernel:-(

No, the drivers fit a very particular version of the Linux kernel, which they also dictate.
